  • Patent number: 9347919
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for rapidly extracting the analyte existing in the liquid phase in analyzing an analyte “having a large partition coefficient in gas-liquid equilibrium”, “having a high water solubility”, or “having a low olfactory threshold” by a gas-liquid contact extraction method, and further provides, a method and apparatus for unmanned continuous sample introduction of the analyte to a GC or the like for a long time. In the present invention, using a gas-liquid contact extractor to which a sample liquid is continuously introduced from above and a purge gas from beneath, the analyte in the sample liquid is extracted by gas-liquid contact between the sample liquid and the purge gas. A discharge pipe is connected to the bottom of the gas-liquid contact extractor, the pipe having a liquid sump through which the sample liquid is discharged, while blocking the outflow of the purge gas from the liquid sump.

  • Patent number: 8795410
Abstract: The problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide a monolith adsorbent which can adsorb a target sample easily in a short time or regardless of whether the amount of the sample is small or large and extract the sample with a small amount of solvent, and easily secure the sample necessary for analysis, and a method and an apparatus for adsorption and retention using the same. The present invention is a monolith adsorbent formed by allowing a monolith structure body to contain an adsorbing material such as activated carbon or graphite, exposing the adsorbing material on the surface of the structure body and further surface-treating the surface of the monolith structure body with a hydrophobic or hydrophilic compound or a resin.

  • Patent number: 6997125
Abstract: The automated sewing device itself includes several known constitutional elements similar to those of the earlier described prior-art automated sewing devices. Namely, a known sewing machine (M) having a sewing needle (32), a pressure foot member (31), and a feed dog member (33) is fixedly provided on a table (3), and a stationary guide plate (2) having a pair of first and second guide grooves (20A)(20B) formed therein is fixedly mounted on the table (3). And, movably attached on that stationary guide plate (2) is a movable guide plate (1) which has a pair of guide rollers (12)(12) rotatably provided on the reverse side thereof. Designation (30) denotes a guide member disposed adjacent to the sewing needle (32), which is so designed that both end portions (53) and (63) respectively of the first and second base materials (5)(6) will be slidably contacted therewith and thereby be guided in a direction to that sewing needle (32).

  • Patent number: 6935259
Abstract: An automated sewing device including a stationary guide element and a movable guide element movably provided on said stationary guide element, the movable guide element allowing one base material to be placed thereon. A plurality of movable sections are defined in the movable guide element and movably connected with one another, such that each of the plurality of movable sections is foldable upwardly relative to the movable guide element, thereby avoiding contact of the movable guide element with a worker who operates the sewing device. The movable guide element may include an area recessed toward a sewing machine of the automatic sewing device, thereby allowing the worker to easily move to guide another base material and along the said one base material while in operation.

  • Patent number: 6845725
Abstract: A method for sewing together covering elements is provided, in which two first threads and a second thread are used in a sewing machine having sewing needle means. In operating the sewing machine, the covering elements are fed at a given feeding pitch, such that the two first threads are entwined about the second thread in each of needle holes formed by the sewing needle means in the covering elements. Those entwined three threads fill and close the needle hole, thereby preventing leakage of a liquid foaming agent at a foaming process for forming a foamed product integral with the covering elements. The sewing needle means may comprise one sewing needle, in which case, both two first threads are used in that one sewing needle, or alternatively may comprises two sewing needles, in which case, the two first sewing threads are respectively used in the two sewing needles.

  • Publication number: 20040256904
Abstract: A trim cover assembly formed by sewing together a plurality of cover materials into a three-dimensional configuration which is to undergo a foaming process in which a liquid foaming agent is injected into the trim cover assembly and a resultant foam padding is filled therein. Each of the cover materials comprises a top cover layer and a slab foam wadding layer fixed to a reverse side of the top cover layer. The slab foam wadding layer is of a continuous cellular structure having an air permeability of from 0.2 cc/cm2/sec. to 1 cc/cm2/sec. so that, during the foaming process, the liquid foaming agent is impregnated and cured in the slab foam wadding layer at a proper rate relative to the thickness of the latter so as not to reach the top cover layer.

  • Patent number: 6200506
Abstract: A method for forming a headrest, which involves pre-assembling an incomplete headrest unit including a trim cover assembly having an opening therein and a headrest frame having been placed via the opening within the trim cover assembly, and a foaming process for subjecting such incomplete headrest unit to a foaming by injecting a liquid base foaming material into the interior of trim cover assembly and curing that foaming material, so as to produce a final headrest. In the method, an injection nozzle device is utilized, which has an entrapping or catching element provided at the nozzle portion thereof. Prior to the foaming process, the nozzle portion of injection nozzle device is inserted via the opening into the interior of trim cover assembly in a first direction, and then drawn in a second direction opposite to the first direction, thereby causing the opening to be closed positively by the catching element, to prevent leakage of the liquid base foaming material from the opening.

  • Patent number: 6164226
Abstract: A method for forming a trim cover assembly of a donut-like headrest for use on a vehicle seat. A reversed first cover unit is provided, which has been formed in a reversed state, with its reverse side exposed outwardly, and which is of a generally inverted-U-shaped configuration having a pair of outward openings defined at one side thereof and a pair of inward openings defined inwardly thereof. This reversed first cover unit is turned over into a normal state, with its outer side exposed outwardly. Then, a second cover unit is sewn with such pair of inward openings of said first cover unit, such as to provide an opened side, so that an annular opening is defined by, and along all the foregoing pair of outward openings of said first cover unit and that opened side of said second cover unit. Thereafter, a third cover unit is sewn, at its peripheral end, with and along the thus-defined annular opening of first and second cover units, whereby a donut-like trim cover assembly is produced.
