    Abstract: This invention provides a system for enabling the assembly and suspension of a plurality of loudspeakers in a line array where the splay angle between the adjacent speakers can be adjusted and rigidly maintained. The line array system utilizes rigging frames that allow for the coupling and supporting of the loudspeakers through the use of adjustable hinge bars. The rigging frames and adjustable hinge bars together form and rigidly maintain the splay angles between adjacent loudspeakers and correspondingly the curvature of the line array speaker assembly.

    Abstract: There is provided a printing apparatus for printing on a continuous tape. When a portion of a continuous tape having passed a thermal head is cut at a predetermined cutting position, a stepping motor is caused to stop driving the platen roller for rotation to stop feeding of the tape, and then the tape is cut off. During tape-cutting operation, the stepping motor is held in an energized state. When the printing operation is resumed after stopping the feeding and printing of the tape, the thermal head is caused to print on a portion of the tape printed by an immediately preceding printing operation by the thermal head, in an overlapping manner, by the use of identical printing data or printing data for a next line of dots.

The process continues with partial oxidation at about 700.degree. C. to about 900.degree. C. and discontinuing the steam supply while continuing only air or oxygen supply to combust the remaining combustibles having carbon as their major component.

    Abstract: A power steering apparatus of the present invention which includes a pump, a power cylinder, a control valve, an orifice arranged in a supply passage leading an operating fluid discharged from the pump to the control valve, a flow control valve, and a switching valve. A spring chamber of the flow control valve is connected to the supply passage downstream of the orifice, and is responsive to the pressure difference across the orifice for regulating the flow rate of an operating fluid to the control valve to an almost constant flow rate. The switching valve is actuated in response to the differential pressure across the orifice for switching the communication of the spring chamber between the downstream of the orifice and the reservoir. When the differential pressure across the orifice is relatively low, the switching valve brings the spring chamber into communication with the reservoir.

    Abstract: A pressurized fluid supply hose which conducts pressurized fluid discharged from a pump to a fluidically operated device is disclosed. A spiral tube formed by two spirally wound band members is fixed by caulking in one end of a steel pipe. The outer shape of the one end of the steel pipe includes a taper portion formed to slope gradually between a thin portion and an outer diameter portion. By effecting a caulking process with a caulking tool having a pressing portion extending in parallel to an outer surface of the steel pipe, the outer taper portion of the steel pipe is contracted to formed an inner taper portion at an internal surface thereof, and one end of the spiral tube is fixed to the inner taper portion. Because the spiral tube is gradually deformed along the inner taper portion of the steel pipe, it can avoided that a large clearance is formed between the two band members of the spiral tube.

    Abstract: A vane pump includes a pump housing formed with a cylindrical inner space, intake ports and exhaust ports, a rotating shaft rotatably supported by the pump housing, a rotor received in the cylindrical inner space to be rotated by the rotating shaft, a cam ring disposed in the cylindrical inner space, a plurality of vanes held by the rotor to define plural pump chambers between the rotor and cam ring. Fluid sucked from the intake ports is pressurized and discharged to the exhaust ports. The vane pump is further provided with first and second pressure chambers and a throttle passage connecting the first and second pressure chambers. Pressurized fluid discharged from one of the exhaust ports is led to one of the two pressure chambers and pressurized fluid discharged form the other of the exhaust ports is led to the other of the pressure chambers while pressurized fluid is taken out from the second pressure chamber to be supplied to a fluid device.

    Abstract: A reservoir used in an automotive power steering system is provided with a first filter disposed within a reservoir body at a location between an inlet and an outlet thereof. The reservoir is further provided with a first guide member for forcing the oil flowed into through the inlet to flow toward the first filter by changing the flow direction of the oil and a second guide member for forcing the oil passed through the first filter to flow toward the outlet by changing the flow direction of the oil. The first guide member is provided with an opening, and a second filter whose mesh is finer than that of the first filter is attached to the opening so as to allow the oil to flow from the inlet to the inside space above the first filter through the second filter. On the other hand, the second guide member is formed with a second opening for allowing the oil passed through the first filter to flow toward the outlet through the second opening.

    Abstract: A power steering system which includes a fluid source that supplies pressure fluid of a constant flow rate, a fluid motor for supplementing manual steering torque, a servo-valve for distributing fluid to the fluid motor, and a reaction device for applying hydraulic reaction or feeling to a steering wheel. A magnetic pressure control valve is connected to the reaction device to control fluid pressure applied thereto in accordance with a vehicle operating condition, such a vehicle speed. A flow dividing valve serves to divide the pressure fluid of a constant flow rate in a predetermined ratio into first and second flows which are respectively directed to the servo-valve and reaction device. The predetermined ratio is varied such that the flow rate of the fluid supplied to the reaction device increases as the pressure of the fluid supplied to the fluid motor increases.

    Abstract: A vane type hydraulic pump for use in a power steering apparatus comprising a pump housing receiving therein a non-rotatable cam ring and first and second non-rotatable but axially slidable side plates. A pump rotor rotatable integrally with a drive shaft is received in an internal cam bore of the cam ring and, when rotated, delivers pressurized fluid to a discharge port connected to the power steering apparatus. The first and second side plates define at a contact portion therebetween a radial low pressure cavity, which is fluidically communicated with an axial low pressure hole receiving working fluid from a pump reservoir and bypassed fluid from a flow volume control valve. A branch member is provided on one of the side plates to smoothly branch the fluid flow flowing in the low pressure hole in the axial direction into the flow flowing along the low pressure cavity in the radial direction.

    Abstract: A grinding machine wherein a wheel support carrying a grinding wheel is moved along a straight path extending at an acute angle to an axis of rotation of a workpiece. For the subsequent simultaneous grindings of a cylindrical surface and a shoulder side surface perpendicular thereto of the workpiece, the position of a transverse table carrying the workpiece is adjusted in proportion to a designated finish diameter of the cylindrical surface. The position of a sizing device slidable in the axial direction of the workpiece is also adjusted in connection to the positional adjustment of the transverse table, so that a pair of feelers of the sizing device are engaged with the cylindrical surface at a position which is spaced by a designated distance from the shoulder side surface.
