  • Publication number: 20090194404
Abstract: A pressing-type input device includes an operation part and pressure sensors that are provided on the lower surface of the operation part. The operation part includes an operation region where the pressure sensors are provided, and an outer region that is formed outside the operation region. An inner portion of the operation region is locally more flexible than the outer region that is formed outside the operation region.

  • Publication number: 20080053714
Abstract: An input device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided. The input device includes a conductive film formed on a substrate; electrode sections obtained by cutting and partitioning the conductive film in a predetermined shape so as to correspond to the sensor section; a ground pattern disposed at a position located, in the film thickness direction, opposite a remaining portion of the conductive film excluding the electrode sections; and at least one dividing groove formed on a portion of the remaining conductive film disposed between the ground pattern and the electrode sections, for division of the remaining conductive film.

  • Patent number: 4786892
Abstract: An X-Y direction input device includes a ball, a switchboard carrying push switches, first and second follower rollers rotated by the ball having axes perpendicular to each other, and rotation detecting means which all are enveloped by an outer shell. The push switches are activated by switch activating members exposed on the outer surface of the outer shell. The axes of the first and second follower rollers may be rotated by a desired angle with respect to an orientation of the outer shell.

  • Patent number: 4504700
Abstract: A new and efficient input device of an electrode contact type which has a high mechanical strength and durability and can assure accurate detection of coordinates. The input device comprises an elastic flexible insulator spacer having a conductive element embedded therein which may be a gauze of thin wires of a good conductive material knit into the form of a grid. Upon depression of an insulator protective sheet, a portion of the spacer under the sheet is deformed to expose the conductive element downwardly therefrom thereby to short-circuit the element to a resistor layer under the spacer.

  • Patent number: 4503286
Abstract: A new and efficient input device of an electrode contact type which has a high mechanical strength and durability and can assure accurate detection of coordinates. The input device comprises an elastic flexible insulator spacer having a conductive element embedded therein which may be a gauze of thin wires of a good conductive material knit into the form of a grid. Upon depression of an outermost insulator protective sheet, a portion of the spacer is deformed to expose the conductive element below and above therefrom thereby to short-circuit the element to first and second resistor layers under and on the spacer, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4295119
Abstract: A rotary variable resistor comprises a wiper mounted in a recess in a substantially cylindrical, hollow wiper holder formed integrally with a control shaft, and an elastic flange integrally formed with the lower peripheral end portion of the wiper holder. This variable resistor is characterized in that the wiper holder is rotatably supported between an insulating substrate and a cover such that wiper legs projected from the lower end surface of the flange can be slid resiliently on the insulating substrate.
