  • Publication number: 20100219698
Abstract: An inductive power transmission platform includes a plurality of inductive power outlets connected to a common driver via individual power switches. The inductive power outlets are configured to couple with inductive power receivers to provide power to electrical loads wired thereto. The switches may be configured to remain closed while current passes therethrough. The common driver may be used to manage the power drawn by the transmission platform to each of the inductive power outlets.

  • Publication number: 20100219183
Abstract: A power providing system in which inductive power outlets are incorporated into a bounding surface of a workspace includes inductive power outlets having primary inductors connected to a power supply via a driver. The primary inductors may be inductively coupled to secondary inductors wired to an electric load to provide power thereto. The bounding surface may be a wall, floor, ceiling or the like. Various inductively enabled prefabricated materials are disclosed for incorporating into such bounding surfaces.

  • Publication number: 20100072825
Abstract: A signal transfer system for controlling power transfer across an inductive power coupling. A transmission circuit associated with an inductive power receiver is configured to transmit a control signal to a reception circuit associated with an inductive power outlet. The transmission circuit includes an ancillary load and a switching unit for modulating power drawn by a secondary inductive coil according to the control signal. The reception circuit is configured to monitor power provided to a primary inductive coil thereby detecting the modulated control signal. The signal transfer system may be used to regulate the power supplied by the inductive coupling and to detect the presence of the secondary coil.

  • Publication number: 20100070219
Abstract: An efficiency monitor for monitoring the efficiency of power transmission by an inductive power outlet. The efficiency monitor includes an input power monitor, for measuring the input power delivered to the primary coil, and an output power monitor, for measuring the output power received by the secondary coil. The input and output powers are used by a processor to determine an index of power-loss. A circuit breaker may be used to disconnect the inductive power outlet in case of excessive power loss.

  • Publication number: 20040082365
Abstract: A method and system to connect remote antennae and/or remote cellular sectors/sites to cellular base stations. The method and system described herein uses bi-directional optical wireless links, which transfer the information between the base station and the remote site, and vice versa, by single optical signal or several optical signals of different wavelengths. This method and system make it possible to place the antennae remote from the base station.
