Patent number: 11906918Abstract: In an example, a printing apparatus may include, a rotatable shaft, a removable drum mounted on the shaft and a fixing element to fixedly couple the removable drum to the shaft, so that the removable drum is to rotate with the shaft. The printing apparatus may also include a heater, a printing apparatus satellite component located adjacent to the removable drum and engageable with the removable drum and a controller. The controller may be to receive a command to prepare the removable drum for removal; and in response, control the shaft to rotate the removable drum; control the heater to heat the removable drum while it rotates; and control the printing apparatus to engage the satellite component of the printing apparatus with the removable drum while it rotates.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2022Date of Patent: February 20, 2024Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Lavi Cohen, Yossi Yaacobov, Tomer Bunker

Publication number: 20230142039Abstract: In one example a method comprises moving, by a processor, a photoreceptor of a print apparatus. The photoreceptor is movable between a fully engaged position in which the photoreceptor is to engage a transfer member of the print apparatus to transfer an image from the photoreceptor to the transfer member and a fully disengaged position in which the photoreceptor is remote from the transfer member. The method comprises moving, by a processor, the photoreceptor to an intermediate position between the fully engaged and fully disengaged positions. The method comprises engaging, by a processor, a cleaning system of the print apparatus with the photoreceptor when the photoreceptor is in the intermediate position.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 24, 2020Publication date: May 11, 2023Applicant: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Yossi YAACOBOV, Tsafi ZION SHTIVI, Michel ASSENHEIMER, Yaniv YONA, Amiran LAVON

Patent number: 11638927Abstract: There is disclosed a selective wetting apparatus comprising a roller rotatable about a roller axis and comprising a wettable roller surface; an applicator unit having a lip which extends parallel to the roller axis and is radially spaced apart from the roller surface by a gap, wherein the applicator unit is to convey liquid agent towards the roller so that the liquid agent forms a liquid bridge over the gap to wet a wetted axial portion of the roller surface; and a flow guide to direct a gas flow into a regulated axial portion of the gap to locally prevent formation of a liquid bridge, and thereby prevent wetting of a corresponding axial portion of the roller surface.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2017Date of Patent: May 2, 2023Assignee: HP Indigo B.V.Inventors: Alex Lipnizkiy, Mordechai Arenson, Marko Richter, Yossi Yaacobov, Gil Fisher, Michael Vinokur, Nadav Shalem, Chen Talmor

Patent number: 11472174Abstract: There is disclosed apparatus for wetting a roller of a printing system comprising an applicator unit comprising a liquid agent chamber. Upper and lower walls extend from the liquid agent chamber to define a slit therebetween. The upper wall extends beyond a lip of the lower wall to a transfer lip. A flow restrictor is received in the slit to prevent flow of liquid agent to a respective portion of the transfer lip, thereby defining a restricted portion of the slit and an adjacent unrestricted portion of the slit. The flow restrictor fits in the restricted portion with a clearance that permits liquid agent flow at a reduced velocity relative flow through the unrestricted portion, such that liquid agent along the restricted portion is discharged from the lower wall. A method of installing a flow restrictor is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2017Date of Patent: October 18, 2022Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Alex Feygelman, Mordechai Arenson, Marko Richter, Yossi Yaacobov

Patent number: 11279159Abstract: In one example, a method comprises measuring, by a processor, the flow rate of a cleaning fluid to clean at least a portion of a printing apparatus. The measured flow rate is compared to a desired flow rate. When the measured flow rate is outside of a first deviation from the desired flow rate, but within a second deviation from the desired flow rate, then the method in this example comprises changing the operation of a component of a printing apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 2018Date of Patent: March 22, 2022Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Yossi Yaacobov, Michel Assenheimer

Publication number: 20220082996Abstract: There is disclosed a device such as a printer or temperature control device for a printer. The device may comprise a photoreceptor. The device may further comprise a heat exchanger to regulate a temperature of the photoreceptor. The device may further comprise a temperature regulator to measure a temperature of a surface of the photoreceptor and control the heat exchanger based on the measured temperature. The device may further comprise a superior temperature controller to, during a pre-print phase of a print action, inhibit the control of the heat exchanger by the temperature regulator and control the heat exchanger to provide a specified amount of heat exchange.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 31, 2019Publication date: March 17, 2022Applicant: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Vitaly Portnoy, Dmitry Maister, Yossi Yaacobov, Michel Assenheimer, Brian Schmitz Tani, Nailson Boaz Costa Leite
