    Abstract: There is provided an imaging apparatus capable of reducing effects given by an object outside a dynamic range of the camera, and capturing an object image with appropriate exposure, when a camera performs imaging. The imaging apparatus is configured to separate image data into a plurality of blocks, extract a specific-color block using an average value of each color component acquired using only a pixel group whose pixel output is included within a predetermined range and the number of the groups, set a weighting coefficient of an exposure-amount calculation for the block to be determined as the specific color, and set the exposure based on the weighting coefficient and an average value of brightness acquired using only the pixel groups whose pixel output and the average value of the brightness of the block are included within the predetermined range.
