Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products for monitoring an area. A data collection and analysis system includes a plurality of data collection devices. Each data collection device includes an imaging unit that captures images of the area. The system receives time-stamped images from the imaging units and identifies the articles of interest in the images. The system further determines a spatial location of each article of interest identified based at least in part on a location of the article of interest in the image and the location of the portion of the area in the image. Each article of interest is associated with its spatial location and the time stamp of the image in which it was identified in a database. In response to receiving a query associated with an article of interest at the database, the system displays a timeline for the article of interest.

Abstract: An interactive system includes a database for storing information including an identification and a location of a parcel, a server connected to the database for accessing information about parcels stored in the database and one or more user devices connected to the server over a network such as the internet. The interactive system can present to the user of the user device a virtual world that includes one or more parcels. Each parcel can be associated with one or more elements of content (e.g., text, audio and or video) and/or a coupon enabling the user to purchase a real object or thing (e.g., a cup of coffee, dinner at a restaurant, theater tickets, etc.). The parcel can include a plurality of attributes that device how each user can interact with the parcel, for example whether a user can take possession of the parcel and view its content or redeem the coupon.

Abstract: A passenger scanning system includes a passenger screening area configured for a person to enter and a shield surrounding at least a portion of the passenger screening area. The shield is configured to reduce a radio frequency interference within the passenger screening area. The passenger scanning system also includes one or more sensors positioned in the passenger screening area at a height configured to be proximate one or more of an abdominal region, a groin region, and a pelvic region of the entered person. The sensors are configured to generate a signal in response to a target substance located in the one or more of the abdominal region, the groin region, and the pelvic region.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include a security checkpoint system that has a camera configured for obtaining a first photographic image of an individual, a photographic image scanner configured for scanning a second photographic image, and a comparator mechanism for comparing the first photographic image with the second photographic image to ascertain whether the second photographic image is of the individual. Other embodiments include a method for automatedly developing security-related characteristics for an individual.
