  • Patent number: 11320442
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for body fluid-based neurodegenerative disease diagnosis through high-sensitive immunoassay of aggregated proteins by photooxidation-induced amplification. The method according to the present disclosure provides an effect of quantitatively analyzing aggregated proteins in the form of oligomers or monomers which are present in trace amounts in a body fluid and measures normal or abnormal protein aggregation by detecting the aggregated proteins in the form of oligomers or monomers with high sensitivity by reaction of antibody-conjugated enzymes selectively bound to the aggregated proteins with substrates and photooxidation-induced amplification, thereby allowing accurate diagnosis of a neurodegenerative disease.

Assignee: KOREA INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
Inventors: Ji Yoon Kang, Min Cheol Park, Youhee Heo
  • Patent number: 11054427
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of quantifying a biomarker with high sensitivity using photo-oxidation induced amplification. The method includes performing an enzyme-substrate reaction of a measurement sample including an enzyme labeled on any one selected from among an antibody, an aptamer, and a nucleic acid specifically bound to the biomarker, optically measuring one or more optical properties selected from among amounts of color formation, light emission, and fluorescence of a product during a photo-oxidation induced amplification process while the product resulting from the enzyme-substrate reaction is continuously exposed to light to thus perform the photo-oxidation induced amplification process, indexing a time-varying pattern of the measured optical properties, and quantifying a concentration of the biomarker included in the measurement sample by comparing an index extracted during the indexing with an index of a reference sample.

Date of Patent: July 6, 2021
    Assignee: ABSOLOGY CO., LTD
Inventors: Ji Yoon Kang, Min Cheol Park, Youhee Heo
  • Patent number: 10648988
Abstract: A method for providing information relevant to the diagnosis of a neurodegenerative disorder. The method includes (i) obtaining a biological sample containing vesicles from a subject, (ii) measuring the level of amyloid beta in the biological sample using an antibody specific for the N-terminus of amyloid beta, and (iii) comparing the measured level of amyloid beta in the biological sample with the level of amyloid beta in a previously prepared control sample.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 23, 2018
Date of Patent: May 12, 2020
Assignee: Korea Institute of Science and Technology
Inventors: Ji Yoon Kang, Kyeong-Sik Shin, Jae-hoon Ji, Youhee Heo, Kyoseon Hwang, Myung-Sic Chae
