  • Patent number: 5496656
Abstract: A battery equipped with a cathode composite (2), an anode composite or an anode (4), an electrolyte layer (3) and a sealing material (6); characterized by that a material such as an element belonging to VIII-group of periodic table such as palladium etc., for example, is included in an inside of the battery. Gas produced in the battery inside is absorbed to the above material or added to a residual reactive double bond in an ion-conductive high-molecular compound by the above material, so that a rise of battery inside pressure due to gas is restrained and expansion and bursting of the battery are thus prevented.

  • Patent number: 5437942
Abstract: A lithium secondary battery includes a positive electrode, an electrolyte layer having a solid polymer electrolyte, and a negative electrode using metallic lithium or lithium alloy as an active material. The electrolyte layer includes a first layer and a second layer, and an electrolyte of the first layer in contact with the negative electrode is less reactive with a negative active material than to an electrolyte of the second layer.

  • Patent number: 5290592
Abstract: A manufacturing method for an electrode in which ultra fine particles of active material formed in gas by an evaporation method are carried in a gas flow and blown onto a surface of a substrate, so that an electrode comprising a thin film of active material is formed on the surface of the substrate. A manufacturing method for an electrode-electrolyte composite in which ultra fine particles of active material formed in gas by the evaporation method are carried in a gas flow and blown onto a surface of a film comprising a solid electrolyte, so that an electrode comprising a thin film of active material is formed on the surface of the film. The above manufacturing method for an electrode can provide an anode or a cathode comprising an ultra thin film having an uniform thickness of under 10 microns inclusive, for example.

  • Patent number: 4844995
Abstract: A polymer solid electrolyte comprises a crosslinked polyester in which a salt is dissolved, and which has a crosslinked structure of the formula: ##STR1## where R stands for an inert group other than a hydrogen atom. It is suitable as an electrolyte and a separator for a battery, especially a lithium battery which can be recharged. Batteries including such electrolyte are also disclosed.
