    Abstract: An oscillation suppression device comprises a base body to be secured to a ship body, a gimbals secured to the base body, a damper, a flywheel provided in the gimbals, and a motor for rotating the flywheel, etc. The gimbals is supported by bearings built into a pair of side walls of the base body, respectively, such that it can rotate around a first axis. The flywheel can rotate around a second axis. A rotor member of the motor is attached to the flywheel, and a stator member is attached to the gimbals. The rotor member and stator member are located inside the locus-of-rotation of the gimbals. The base body includes a cover portion covering the outer surface of the gimbals.
