Patent number: 6137984Abstract: A toner image fixing apparatus has a fixing roller, a pressing roller, and a heating roller which are rotatable about their own axes. The pressing roller presses a sheet carrying an unfixed toner image against the fixing roller to fix the unfixed toner image to the sheet. The heating roller is disposed on one side of the fixing roller remotely from the pressing roller. An endless heat transfer belt is trained around the heating and fixing rollers for transferring heat from a heater to heat the unfixed toner image on the sheet. A guide plate is positioned upstream of the pressing roller for guiding the sheet to enter between the fixing and pressing rollers. The heat transfer belt and the guide plate are so spaced from each other that the sheet prior to being entering between the fixing and pressing rollers is kept out of contact with the heat transfer belt. The heat transfer belt may be positioned outside of a region where the sheet guided by the guide plate possibly passes.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 1999Date of Patent: October 24, 2000Assignee: Nitto Kogyo Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yuichiro Higashi, Takeshi Kato, Youichi Ishikawa

Patent number: 5853832Abstract: Disclosed herein is an oil application roll for electrophotograph fixation, which comprises a roll base, an oil holder provided on the roll base, and a porous fluororesin surface layer provided on the oil holder. The porous fluororesin surface layer has a maximum pore diameter of less than 0.1 .mu.m, an air permeability of 500 to 6000 s/100 cc, and a surface roughness of less than Ra 0.5 .mu.m. There is also provided a method of fabricating an oil application roll for electrophotograph fixation, which comprises the steps of (a) providing an oil holder on a roll base, (b) mounting a cylindrical film consisting of porous fluororesin having a thermal shrinkage of more than 30% onto the oil holder to obtain a roll body, and (c) heating the roll body so that the oil holder is covered with the cylindrical film. The cylindrical film consisting of porous fluororesin has a maximum pore diameter of less than 0.1 .mu.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 1996Date of Patent: December 29, 1998Assignee: Nitto Kogyo Co., Ltd.Inventor: Youichi Ishikawa

Patent number: 5282703Abstract: An indexable cutting insert is disclosed in which, an insert body is formed into a polygonal plate-like shape when viewed from the front, and has a cutting face and a flank face. In the insert body, a cutting edge is formed at an intersection of the cutting face and the flank face. The cutting face is formed into an inclined face downsloped toward the inner side of the front face of the insert body. A breaker face is formed on the front face connected with the cutting face. The breaker face projects outwardly in the direction of the thickness of the insert body with respect to the extended plane stemming from the cutting face. On the cutting face, protrusions projecting out from the cutting face are formed, and when viewed from the front, extend towards the inner side from the periphery of the insert body. The protrusion has a ridge portion, which extends perpendicular to the direction of the thickness of the insert body.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 1992Date of Patent: February 1, 1994Assignee: Mitsubishi Materials CorporationInventors: Takeshi Itaba, Youichi Ishikawa, Osamu Ichinoseki

Patent number: 4252627Abstract: An electrical membrane probe for the measurement of dissolved oxygen concentration in fluids, particularly designed for monitoring or control of fermentation process and characterized as follows:1. The anode metal is lined on the internal wall of the electrolytic cell which is made of metal tube.2. The vent hole for the adjustment of outer and inner pressures and the protection cover to prevent the inflow of medium into the cell are provided.3. All of parts are connected with each other mechanically then unskilled operators can exchange the especially membrane and cathode, when some of the parts are ruptured or worn out.4. The probe can maintain its ability even after repeated steam sterilization at high temperatures such as 130.degree. C.5. The deterioration of insulation is completely prevented by using glass as insulating material.6. The membrane can be removed and exchanged easily by removing the membrane holding cap.Type: GrantFiled: July 17, 1979Date of Patent: February 24, 1981Assignee: Oriental Yeast Co., Ltd.Inventors: Minoru Ohashi, Youichi Ishikawa, Makoto Shouda, Tamon Watabe
