  • Patent number: 7984459
Abstract: A recording medium drive includes a disc ejecting mechanism that ejects an optical disc disposed on a turntable to a slot. The disc ejecting mechanism is provided with a first disc feeding mechanism disposed on a rear side in a drive unit body and a second disc feeding mechanism (a disc guide mechanism) that is disposed on a slot side relative to the first disc feeding mechanism and continuously feeding the optical disc fed by the first disc feeding mechanism in a direction toward the slot. The optical disc having a small diameter can be transferred from the turntable to the slot by the first disc feeding mechanism and the second disc feeding mechanism which are respectively disposed on the rear side and a front side of the slot, thereby ejecting the optical disc to the outside.

  • Patent number: 7181749
Abstract: A recess (16a3) is provided to be continuous with the circumferential edge of a tray recess (16a2) of a disk tray (16) housing an optical disc (28) to allow a pickup (45) to move without contacting anything. A cover section (17c) having a substantially tongue-like shape adapted to the recess (16a3) is projected integrally from a rotor support member (17) covering the tray recess (16a2) from above and defining a substantially cylindrical housing space (18) for coaxially housing the optical disc (28), the cover section continuously covering the recess (16a3) of the disk tray (16) and the housing space (18). Even when the optical disc (28) is rotated at a high speed, flutter attributable to airflow or a difference between pressures on both sides of the optical disc (28) can be reduced to allow the optical disc (28) to rotate with stability.

  • Patent number: 7117509
Abstract: There is provided a slot-in type reproducing/recording apparatus in which a disk ,when ejected, stops at a predetermined position in front of the apparatus to be easily handled. A stop mechanism (59) includes an engagement pin (55) formed on an eject arm (52) and biased toward a selector plate (51) and the engagement recesses (51E, 51F) formed on the selector plate (51) and hold the engagement pin (55) in a manner that the disk is held by main arms and the eject arm (52). The selector plate (51) can move in a direction orthogonal to a disk-eject direction as the main arms open or close. Upon the ejection of the disk, the stop mechanism (59) stops the disk at a predetermined position in front of the apparatus so as to prevent the disk from jumping out from a slot (1A).

  • Patent number: 7111310
Abstract: There is provided a reproducing/recording apparatus that can reduce a load required for pushing in a case to activate a motor of a loading mechanism. The recording/reproducing apparatus includes a gear mechanism coupled with the motor, and a rack (43) coupled with the gear mechanism and provided along an advancement and retraction direction of a base plate (3), i.e., the case. Between the rack (43) and the base plate (3), grooves (32A) are formed for allowing a relative movement of the rack (43) and the base plate (3) along the advancement and retraction direction. Between the base plate (3) and the gear mechanism, a start cam mechanism is formed for starting rotation of the motor when the base plate (3) advances to a predetermined position. With such configuration, the base plate (3) can advance within the length of the grooves (32A) without much load when a user pushes in the base plate (3), therefore the disk D can be easily loaded.

  • Patent number: 6880159
Abstract: A disc driving apparatus comprises a turntable, a clamping member and a cam mechanism. A disc is to be placed on the turntable. The clamping member holds the disc between the turntable and the clamping member with a magnetic attracting force. The cam mechanism causes a relative movement between the turntable and the clamping member to move any one of them away from another thereof or move them closer to each other. The cam mechanism has a cam and a cam follower. The cam has a contour by which a variation rate of displacement of the cam follower relative to a moving amount of the cam when the turntable and the clamping member move away form each other becomes smaller than a variation rate thereof when the turntable and the clamping member move close to each other.

  • Publication number: 20040218481
Abstract: There is provided a slot-in type reproducing/recording apparatus in which a plurality of different sized disks are applicable and a disk surface is protected from dust and dirt caused by disk insertion and ejection. The slot-in type reproducing/recording apparatus includes an apparatus body (1) having a slot (1A) for inserting and ejecting a disk (D) and a hold assembly (5) provided inside the apparatus body (1) for accommodating the disk (D). Since the hold assembly (5) has three arms (52 to 54) that respectively press an outer circumferential edge of the disk (D) at different points with the predetermined biasing force, two types, i.e., a small type and a large type, of disk (D) can be held with the biasing force without the arms (52 to 54) touching the surface of the disk (D).

  • Publication number: 20040057152
Abstract: A disk drive includes a main unit and an outer case (2). The main unit includes a disk-driving unit for rotating a disk, a data-reproducing unit for reproducing data from the disk, and a drive unit for moving the data-reproducing unit relative to the disk. The outer case (2) has a top wall (3a) and a rear wall (3c). The top wall (3a) opposes the main unit. The rear wall (3c) extends from the rear edge of the top wall (3a), is gently inclined and covers the rear part of the main unit. The rear wall (3c) serves as a guide when the disk drive is inserted into a slot of an apparatus. In addition, the metal plate used to form the outer case (2) can be smaller than otherwise.

  • Patent number: 6417780
Abstract: A radio control device is provided that has the D/R function wherein the rate can be switched by a simple operation without impairing the operability of a stick. The adjustment value (rate) determining a relationship between stick operation amount and servo motor operation amount is switched at the changeover point arbitrarily set within a range of stick operation amounts. The rate 1 is 100% while the rate 2 is 60%. The point 1 is set to the position corresponding to about 65% of the maximum value of the stick operation amount in the right direction (or down direction). The point 2 is set to the position corresponding to about 85% of the maximum value of the stick operation amount in the left direction (or up direction). In the rate 2, the rudder does not effectively work over the range where the operation amount of the stick is relatively small. When the adjustment value exceeds the point, the mode enters the rate 1, so that the rudder works effectively.

  • Patent number: 6125712
Abstract: A driving apparatus comprises a rotation member, a shaft and a restriction member. The rotation member has a shaft-receiving portion. The shaft is fitted into the shaft-receiving portion so as to permit rotation of the rotation member relative to the shaft. The shaft has a protrusion projecting in a direction substantially perpendicular to an axial direction of the shaft. The restriction member prevents the rotation member from deviating in a projecting direction of the protrusion.

  • Patent number: 5917802
Abstract: An adhered double-sided optical disc is formed by adhering a first disc and a second disc with each other at both sides. The device has a turntable secured to a rotating shaft, a clamper for clamping the double-sided optical disc together with the turntable, and a centering hub mounted on the rotating shaft. The centering hub has a first engaging cylindrical portion and a second engaging cylindrical portion surface of which is located axially inside the first engaging cylindrical portion. Each of both of the engaging cylindrical portions has a diameter so as to be engaged with an inside wall of a center hole of each of the first and second discs. An inclining angle (.alpha.) of the first engaging cylindrical portion with respect to a vertical plane to an axis of the centering hub is larger than an inclining angle (.beta.) of the second engaging cylindrical portion with respect to the vertical plane to the axis.
