    Abstract: A body of an electronic apparatus includes an upper case and a lower case fitted to the upper case. A display is rotatably mounted on an outer surface of the upper case. A keyboard is attached to an inner surface of the upper case, and a shield plate is fixed to an inner surface of the keyboard. On the shield plate are mounted a memory device and circuit boards with electronic parts. A supporting unit attached to the inner surface of the upper case and arranged to the side of the keyboard has a storing portion for storing a battery pack.

    Abstract: A portable computer has a keyboard and a display unit mounted to a base unit. The base unit is equipped with a battery for generating a reference voltage. The display unit has a plasma display and a housing for containing the plasma display. This housing is rotated to an open position for permitting visual confirmation of plasma display at the time of display of an image. In the housing of the display unit is retained a voltage converter for converting the reference voltage of the battery into a drive voltage for driving the plasma display. The voltage converter, which self-generates heat during its converting operation, is arranged on the right or left sides of the plasma display rotated to the open position or above the plasma display.

    Abstract: A card can be removably stored in a computer. The card has a first half portion that includes a first end portion having a first connector, a second half portion including a second end portion opposite to the first end portion, and a first electrically conductive portion disposed in the second half portion. The computer includes an upper portion including a data input device and a flat panel display device coupled to the upper portion. A side portion, continuous with the upper portion, has a card insertion opening for receiving the card. A card storing portion, disposed within the computer, stores the card when the card is received into the card insertion opening. A second connector, disposed in the card storing portion, removably connects to the first connector when the card storing portion stores the card so as to electrically connect the card with the computer.

A card storing section is formed within the body between the support frame and the upper case, between the keyboard and the pivotal portion of the display. The card storing section, for storing the card-shaped electronic device, has a card inlet opening open to a lateral side face of the body. Electronic components are arranged in a space formed between the lower case and the support frame.

The lid may also prevent rotation of the socket.

    Abstract: A portable computer includes a main body and a removable display unit. The main body has a receiving member rotatably supported on the main body by a hinge shaft which is fixed to the main body and electrically connected to a shielding layer of the main body for electromagnetically shielding the main body. A conductive layer is formed on the receiving member and electrically connected to the hinge shaft by an elastic conducting piece. The display unit has a connecting portion removably fitted to the receiving member. The connecting portion has a conductive portion electrically connected to a shielding layer of the display unit for electromagnetically shielding the display unit. An elastic contact piece is fixed to the conductive portion of the receiving member, and a contact portion is formed on the conductive portion of the connecting portion and elastically contact the contact piece to electrically connect the conductive portions to each other.

    Abstract: A passageway is formed by a wall of a recess receiving a part unit and a wall of a case close to and facing the wall of the recess. A first opening is formed on the wall of the recess communicating with the space of the recess, and a second opening is formed on the wall of the case communicating with the external atmosphere. A slider for detachably holding the part unit by a hook is inserted from the first opening into the passageway. A knob larger than the second opening is externally applied to the wall of the case to cover the second opening. The knob and the slider are detachably coupled with each other through the second opening by the hook and a portion detachably engaging with the hook.

    Abstract: A portable electronic apparatus includes a main body having a bottom case and a top cover detachably mounted on the bottom case. The top cover is provided with a mounting section to which a battery pack is removably fitted, and a opening open to the mounting section. A terminal stand is mounted in the bottom case, and a connecting terminal is supported on the stand and electrically connected to electronic parts housed in the bottom case. The terminal is covered with a terminal cover except for a contact portion of the terminal. The contact portion projects into the mounting section through the opening and contacts with a power supply terminal of the battery pack. The terminal cover is fitted in the opening so as to close it.

The bottom plate of the base unit includes a front bottom portion and a rear bottom portion angled relative to the front bottom portion. Holders are respectively attached to the right and left edge portions of the printed circuit board. The holders hold the printed circuit board for locating the front portion on the front bottom portion and the rear portion on the rear bottom portion. The holders and the printed circuit board are secured to the bottom plate of the base unit by screws.
