  • Patent number: 8265119
Abstract: A frequency allocation method and apparatus using a mirroring-assisted frequency hopping pattern is provided for retransmission in a wireless communication system operating in frequency hopping mode. A frequency allocation method for a wireless communication system operating in frequency hopping mode includes generating a mirroring pattern having a mirroring-assisted frequency hopping interval identical with a data retransmission interval; and allocating different frequency bands for an initial transmission and retransmission by performing frequency hopping according to the mirroring pattern. Preferably, the mirroring-assisted frequency hopping interval is shorter than the data retransmission interval.

  • Publication number: 20110228756
Abstract: A CQI transmission power control method is provided for transmitting CQIs of multiple cells is provided for a multi-cell HSDPA system in which multiple cells transmit packet data to a user equipment. A control information transmission method of a user equipment in a wireless communication system supporting multi-cell packet transmission service according to the present invention includes generating control informations indicating channel qualities of different cells; classifying the control informations into two control information groups according to a predetermined rule; compensating the control information groups for securing uniform reception performance at a base station; and transmitting the compensated control information groups to the base station.

  • Publication number: 20110164585
Abstract: A resource allocation method and apparatus for an OFDMA-based mobile communication system that allows allocating resources of multiple carriers is provided. A Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) transmission method for allocating resources in multiple frequency bands of a mobile communication system based on an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) according to the present invention includes generating and transmitting, at a base station, multiple PDCCHs for allocating resources in the multiple frequency bands using Control Channel Element (CCE) indices; and receiving and demodulating, at a user equipment, the multiple PDCCHs transmitted by the base station and locating the resources allocated in the multiple frequency bands using the CCE indices of respective PDCCHs.

  • Publication number: 20100034176
Abstract: A method and apparatus for dynamically activating and deactivating a supplementary cell in Dual-Cell HSDPA service of a Universal Mobile Communication Service (UMTS) system. In a supplementary cell activation and deactivation method, a user equipment receives a supplementary cell activation command from a base station; compares an uplink transmission power with a predetermined threshold value; transmits a supplementary cell activation reply, when the uplink transmission power is equal to or greater than the threshold value; and transmits a supplementary cell deactivation reply, when the uplink transmission power is less than the threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20090323639
Abstract: A serving cell change method and apparatus is provided for efficiently performing the serving cell change in a mobile communication system. The UE receives a cell change control information including an activation time from a serving cell, when a downlink channel status of the serving cell is inferior to a downlink channel status of a target cell, reports a measurement result to the serving cell while performing data communication with the serving cell, monitors receipt of a cell change indicator transmitted by the target cell before the expiration of the activation time while performing the data communication with the serving cell, and when the cell change indicator is received, communicates data with the target cell by sending an acknowledgement in response to the cell change indicator and switching to the target cell.
