    Abstract: Disclosed herein are an apparatus and method for mutual authentication of quantum entities based on Measurement-Device-Independent Quantum Key Distribution (MDI-QKD). The method may include configuring a quantum input form based on an authentication key shared in advance with a counterpart entity, applying polarization modulation to the configured quantum input form, transmitting the quantum input form to which polarization modulation is applied to a quantum measurement device, and authenticating the counterpart entity by checking whether the counterpart entity configures a quantum input form according to the shared authentication key using a measurement result and information about polarization modulation.

    Abstract: A storage device, a non-volatile memory device, and a method of operating the non-volatile memory device are provided. The storage device includes a storage controller configured to send a command and program data including a pattern of one or more bits, a non-volatile memory device configured to receive the command and the program data, and a pattern monitoring circuit configured to monitor a pattern of the program data sent from the storage controller. The pattern monitoring circuit is configured to send an abnormal status check bit to the storage controller when the program data includes repeated patterns that are repeated a preset number of times or more, and the storage controller is configured to resend the program data to the non-volatile memory device in response to receiving the abnormal status check bit.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a novel receptor kinase and the gene thereof which can be used for activating plant defense systems against several pathogens such as fungi. The receptor kinase CHRK1 of this present invention has an extracellular domain similar to a chitinase, and whose gene expression is stimulated by infection of TMV. In addition, the receptor kinase CHRK1 contains a chitin-binding activity as well as a kinase activity so that it binds to chitin of fungal cell wall as a chitin receptor, stimulates a kinase domain, and thus effectively activates versatile plant defense systems. Therefore, the receptor kinase CHRK1 of this present invention can be used for developing plants having high resistance to fungi.
