  • Patent number: 7539211
Abstract: A Dynamic bandwidth allocation method using OLT (Optical Line Terminal) and ONU (Optical Network Unit) for use in GE-PON (Gigabit Ethernet Passive Optical Network) system is disclosed. The OLT's scheduler performs scheduling upon receiving multiple-queue request information contained in the REPORT message from the ONU, and transmits a combined scheduling result associated with one ONU using a GATE message. An ONU's scheduler performs scheduling upon receiving a bandwidth allocated by the OLT, and allocates a transfer bandwidth to its own queues.

  • Patent number: 7478994
Abstract: An airfoil, and in a disclosed embodiment a rotor blade, has film cooling holes formed at a leading edge. A supplemental film cooling channel is positioned near the leading edge, but spaced toward the trailing edge from the leading edge. The supplemental film cooling channel directs film cooling air onto a suction wall. The supplemental film cooling channel air is generally directed to a location on the suction wall that has raised some challenges in the past. In a disclosed embodiment, the airfoil is provided with a thermal barrier coating, and the supplemental film cooling air protects this thermal barrier coating.

  • Publication number: 20080082442
Abstract: A credit card management method using a communication terminal is disclosed. In a process of credit data transmission in the credit card management method, credit data of a credit card selected from a list of registered credit cards are transmitted to a personal computer through a local radio communication network. If a credit card is reported lost, the communication terminal is connected to a card security center to resolve the issue regarding the selected credit card. In the searching method for credit card usage information, the credit card usage information is searched by connecting to a home page of a credit card company corresponding to the selected credit card. According to the present invention, when shopping on-line, a user of a communication terminal may purchase a commodity easily. Further, the user may easily report a lost credit card or may search for credit card usage information.

  • Publication number: 20070224033
Abstract: A component for use in a gas turbine engine is provided. The component has an airfoil portion with a plurality of internal cooling passages and a non-linear trailing edge. The component further has a non-linear array of teardrop shaped assemblies which form a plurality of injection slots for injecting a coolant fluid into a fluid passing over the airfoil portion. The teardrop shaped assemblies are designed to maximize thermal performance of the component by reducing a relative diffusion angle between the injected coolant flow and the streamline direction of the fluid passing over the airfoil portion.

  • Patent number: 7131818
Abstract: An airfoil, and in a disclosed embodiment a rotor blade, has a serpentine cooling path. To best account for the Coriolis effect, the paths of the serpentine cooling channel have trapezoidal cross-sections. An area of the rotor blade between a smaller side of the trapezoidal-shaped paths, and a facing wall of the rotor blade has high thermal and mechanical stresses, and is a challenge to adequately cool. A microcircuit, which is a very thin cooling circuit having crossing pedestals, is embedded into the blade in this area. The microcircuit provides additional cooling, and addresses the challenges with regard to cooling these areas.

  • Publication number: 20050106007
Abstract: A turbine engine component, such as a blade or vane, has a system for cooling a trailing edge portion thereof. The system includes a plurality of rows of pedestals which vary in density along a span of the component. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the number of rows of pedestals increases as one moves along the span of the component from an inner diameter region to an outer diameter region.

  • Publication number: 20050019033
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and apparatus for controlling downstream traffic in an EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network). Individual tokens respectively for ONUs (Optical Network Units) are generated and stored, and a common token based on a total transfer rate of the EPON is generated and stored. In order to transmit downstream data, it is determined whether the downstream data is transmittable first by the corresponding individual token, and then second by the common token if the first determination is negative. In the case where traffic is concentrated on an ONU at a time, even if downstream data cannot be transmitted by an individual token for the corresponding ONU, the common token not used by other ONUs can be used to transmit the downstream data. It is thus possible to guarantee minimum/maximum transfer rates to all ONUs and ensure QoS against burst traffic in the EPON.
