  • Publication number: 20180056135
Abstract: This invention is a safety carbiner intended to allow a climber to move around in all positions on the climbing surface without fear that the rope will exert pressure on the gate and accidentally open the gate and allow the rope to escape. The Deflection Fin on the outside of the nose of the long arm of the carbine forces the rope away from the gate.

  • Publication number: 20180056134
Abstract: This invention is a device to improve the safety of rock climbing and mountaineering participants by use of a reactive joint that allows the simultaneous opening of both gates of a double gate carabiner by manipulation of the action gate that results in the opening of the reaction gate in concert with the action gate, resulting in both gates being opened with only one hand movement by the climber.

  • Publication number: 20130043627
Abstract: This present invention addresses the need for more shock-absorbing crash pad. Most traditional crash pads use box-type stiffer, thinner, closed-cell foam sheet over, sometimes under, too, a squishier, thicker, open-cell solid foam base. However, traditionally, most inner form are solid box type and still too hard to soften the landings in case of a fall of climber because most impact goes to downward. This present invention uses forms which were shredded and chunked to ¼? to ½? varied pieces packed in enclosed baffles instead of box-type solid form, allowing air among forms and more shock-absorbing baffle effect to minimize the impact to falling climbers. When hit by a falling climber, the impacts are dispersed to both side-way and downward minimizing the impact to the falling climber.

  • Publication number: 20110114415
Abstract: A manual belaying device for belaying a climber on a single or double rope, comprised of an aluminum body having two slots, a U-shaped bracket, and a diagonal slack bar. Each slot is for a rope to pass through, and the U-shaped bracket is for a carabiner to attach to the rope and the device. The collapsible sliding slack bar is set diagonally so the carabiner can slide side to side, to provide friction for the belayer if the climber is falling, but to allow for the climber to get slack easily on the rope if pulling in the opposite direction.

  • Publication number: 20110113604
Abstract: A carabiner has a C-shaped body. At one end of the body, a gate is pivotally mounted and is spring loaded to a closed position. A trigger is attached at the middle of the body with a hook in it, and is also spring loaded to a closed position against the side of the body. When prepared, the trigger will hold the gate open in ready position for easy access. When hit, the trigger will release the gate, springing the gate back to its closed positions. The trigger will also spring back to its closed position, out of the way of the rope moving inside of the carabiner body.

  • Publication number: 20110011671
Abstract: A manual belaying descending device for belaying a climber and for controlled descending, on a single or double rope, comprised of an aluminum body having two slots. Each slot is for a rope to pass through and adjacent to the slots is the main opening of the device for receiving one or multiple carabiners, in a manner that at least one loop of the rope may pass through at least one carabiner and a friction claw coupled with fixed stop means transversely offset to said openings for limiting the movement of the rope by providing paths of resistance.

  • Publication number: 20070209114
Abstract: A sleeping bag includes a shell defining an enclosed heat insulation space, a sleeping bag filler filling the heat insulation space, and air bags that are provided inside the heat insulation space. The heat insulation space includes a bottom portion and a non-bottom portion. The bottom portion is adapted to support the weight of a user of the sleeping bag. The air bags are positioned in the bottom portion. The air bag includes an elongated air tube, an air communication conduit, and an air plug. The air bags are spaced from one another by a predetermined interval. The sleeping bag filler fills the heat insulation space between the air bags. The air bag may further include an air bag filler that is provided inside the air tube. The air bags may be connected to form a single sealed air space.

  • Publication number: 20060037179
Abstract: A safety buckle comprises a substantially flat elongated body having a first distal end opposite a first distal end, a top surface, and a bottom surface. The first and second distal ends are angled towards the bottom surface to form an approximately obtuse angle with the bottom surface. A substantially elongated cut-out is centrally disposed within the elongated body. The cut-out defines a pair of substantially parallel rails that axially extend between the first and send distal ends. A locking member is disposed within the cut-out. The locking member is slidably coupled to the rails, and slidable between a first position and a second position. When used with a safety strap, the locking member is moved from an “unlocked position” to a “locked” position when tension is applied to the strap. In the locked position, the locking member engages a bottom or clamping surface of the second distal end of the buckle body to apply pressure to the strap and secure it in place.

  • Publication number: 20030172555
Abstract: An internal split toe with creased sole for rock-climbing shoes includes an upper portion, internal wall and a creased sole under the toe area attached to the upper portion. An internal wall separates the area for the big toe and the other toes. The internal wall is attached to the sole and the upper portion. The internal wall ensures a creased sole under the toe area. An internal split toe with creased sole for the rock-climbing shoes allows rock-climbers to maximize the rock surface contact with the sole by hooking and wrapping around uneven and protruding rock surfaces preventing the problems of bulging and loss of sensitivity.
