Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a thin film transistor substrate comprising a plurality of thin film transistors and a plurality of pixel electrodes electrically connected to the plurality of thin film transistors, respectively, to receive a pixel voltage, the pixel electrodes being formed in a pixel region. A second substrate comprising a plurality of sub-common electrodes is positioned in an opposing relationship to the thin film transistor substrate. The sub-common electrodes are positioned opposite the pixel electrodes. A liquid crystal layer interposed between the thin film transistor and the second substrate.
