  • Publication number: 20050226716
Abstract: An impeller for fuel pumps of automobiles, which maximizes the amount of fuel discharge of the fuel pumps by controlling the fuel inlet angle and the fuel outlet angle of the blades of the impeller, thus providing high operational pressures of the fuel pumps and improving operational performances of the fuel pumps, is disclosed. The impeller has a disc-shaped body, with a plurality of blades each having an inclined surface and provided around an outer edge of the disc-shaped body while being spaced out at regular intervals, and a plurality of impeller chambers defined between the blades while being vertically formed through the disc-shaped body to allow fuel to flow into and out of the chambers due to a high-speed rotating force of the impeller. The impeller further includes an inlet guide surface provided on each of the blades within a fuel inlet region of each of the impeller chambers, with a first angle defined between a vertical plane of the impeller and the inlet guide surface.

  • Publication number: 20050207055
Abstract: An improved and distinctive servo-controller scheme resulting in an overall improvement in PES performance, particularly when applied to hard disk drives employing the invention's TMR reduction mechanisms. The servo-controllers trade off gain in the disk vibration frequency range, in favor of, increased rejection of low frequency disturbances. This leads to the lowest PES statistics, when applied to hard disk drives with the TMR reduction mechanisms of the invention. Improved head gimbal assemblies reducing TMR (Track Mis-Registration) in a hard disk drive are provided. These head gimbal assemblies are as mechanically simple as contemporary head gimbal assemblies, support parallel flying sliders over flat disk surfaces, and reduce TMR induced by disk vibration. They are easier to build, more reliable, and cost less to make, than other known approaches at comparable track densities and rotational rates.

Abstract: Improved head gimbal assemblies reducing TMR (Track Mis-Registration) in a hard disk drive are provided. These head gimbal assemblies are as mechanically simple as contemporary head gimbal assemblies, support parallel flying sliders over flat disk surfaces, and reduce TMR' induced by disk vibration. They are easier to build, more reliable, and cost less to make, than other known approaches at comparable track densities and rotational rates. The improved head gimbal assemblies include three sets of mechanisms moving the slider parallel the disk surface, when the disk surface is flat, and radially moving the slider toward the track, when the disk surface is bent. The first and third mechanisms as well as the second and third mechanisms can be used together in a head gimbal assembly. • Publication number: 20050128628
Abstract: A servo writer that writes servo information onto a disk of a hard disk drive. The servo writer can write servo information onto a disk of a hard disk drive while the disk is within an inner chamber of a housing. The rotating disk creates a flow of fluid within the inner chamber. The disk is rotated during the servo writing process. The density of a fluid medium within the inner chamber is controlled by a medium control system so that the density of the medium is less than the density of air at one atmosphere. Lowering the density decreases the amplitude of vibrational forces created by the flow of fluid. Decreasing the amplitude reduces errors in the servo writing process. The density can be reduced by pulling a vacuum within the inner chamber. The density can also be reduced by filling the inner chamber with a gas such as helium that has a lower density than air.

  • Publication number: 20050120086
Abstract: A method and apparatus to selectively fetch and print e-mails which are received by a mail server via a network during a time period specified by a user. The method allows a user to specify the time period for which received e-mails are desired, than to access the mail server and sequentially fetch and evaluate the e-mail header sections stored in the mail server. The user can then selectively fetch the e-mails received in the mail sever during the specified time period based upon the evaluation of the sequentially-fetched e-mail header sections, and print or store the fetched e-mail results.

  • Patent number: 6841068
Abstract: A domestic nanofiltration membrane based water purifier without a storage tank. The water purifier according to the present invention uses a nanofiltration membrane filter as a main filtering section and does not have a storage tank for containment of purified water. Although conventional reverse osmosis membrane based water purification systems provide good quality water, they have problems in that installation of the storage tanks due to insufficient flow rate results in the increased volumes of water purifiers, and at the same time, secondary pollution may be caused by microorganism propagation upon prolonged storage. In this regard, the present invention provides a domestic nanofiltration membrane based water purifier without a storage tank, in which a nanofiltration membrane filter with a pore size of approximately 0.1 to 10 nm is used as a main filtering section.
