  • Publication number: 20080141324
Abstract: An IPTV supplementary service control system and an IPTV supplementary service method using the system are provided. The IPTV supplementary service control system decrypts an IPTV supplementary service request contained in an SOAP message contained in a set-top box in order to provide the IPTV supplementary service. The IPTV supplementary service control system generates a control command required to perform the requested IPTV supplementary service and transmits the control command to a head end which transmits a content via a multicast network. Accordingly, it is possible to easily generate and provide the IPTV supplementary service by remotely controlling the head end.

  • Publication number: 20070117578
Abstract: Provided is a short message service (SMS) system and method, in which a SMS user can directly specify a group (for example, Internet club) of an Internet community and a messenger as a SMS receiver and collectively transmit the same message to several persons belonging to the group. The short message service (SMS) system includes a service request determining unit which determines whether a SMS transmitter requests a short message transmitting service in a group unit, based on a text of the short message in which a specific group is designated as a receiver; a group extracting unit which receives the text from the service request determining unit and extracts the group designated by the transmitter; and a message transmitting unit which requests a server for acquiring information on the extracted group, receives list of terminal numbers of members of the extracted group, and collectively transmits the short message to the terminals of the members.

  • Patent number: 6340998
Abstract: A thin film transistor liquid crystal display according to the present invention provides against cut-off of lines for supplying a predetermined ‘ON’- or ‘OFF’-signal to thin film transistors and improves ‘ON’-current characteristic of the thin film transistors arranged in parallel. The thin film transistor liquid crystal display comprises primary lines and secondary lines to supply scanning signals and data signals respectively wherein each of said primary and secondary lines are branched and a thin film transistor is electrically coupled to each of the branched lines such that at least two transistors are turned on and off simultaneously when one of primary lines and one of secondary lines are applied with scanning signals and data signals respectively. Particularly, the primary and secondary lines are patterned in a trapezoid shape to define a lattice having two vertical sides and two horizontal sides for a unit pixel electrode.

  • Patent number: 6204902
Abstract: A flexible LCD device includes first and second substrates spaced away from each other in a parallel relationship. An electrode, an insulating layer, and an orientation layer are deposited on each substrate in order. A liquid crystal layer is formed between the first and second substrates. At least one of the first and second substrates is made of at least a sheet of retardation film or at least a sheet of diffuser film.

  • Patent number: 6184956
Abstract: A reflective plate used in a reflective LCD includes a base substrate, a plurality of spacer cores dispersed on the base substrate, an adhesive disposed on the base substrate to attach the spacer cores on the base substrate, and a reflective layer deposited on the base substrate to cover the spacer cores and the adhesive. The base substrate is first prepared, then a plurality of spacers are dispersed on the base substrate, each of the spacers including a spacer core and an adhesive deposited around the spacer core. Next, the adhesive deposited around the spacer cores is molten and the molten adhesive is hardened so that the spacer cores are attached on the base substrate. Finally, a reflective layer is deposited on the substrate to cover the spacer cores.
