Abstract: Disclosed herein is a tape locking device for tape measures. The tape locking device comprises a locking lever hinged to an upper portion of the wall of the housing in such a way to be rotated frontward and rearward around a hinged joint, and provided with a connecting piece downwardly extending from the locking lever. A cylinder is connected at its first end to a hole formed at the lower portion of the connecting piece, with a coil spring fitted over the cylinder. A wedge-shaped stopper is connected to the second end of the cylinder, and having a desired frictional force. This stopper is elastically biased by the coil spring to be wedged in the gap between the outer circumferential surface of a wound part of the tape around the bobbin and a linear part of the tape led to the slot when releasing the locking lever after drawing a desired length of tape from the slot, so the drawn tape is automatically locked by frictional contact between the stopper surface and the drawn tape surface.

Abstract: A television-integrated video cassette recorder apparatus comprising a high definition television for receiving a high definition television signal from a broadcasting station, a digital video cassette recorder for recording and playing back the high definition television signal or a standard television signal on/from a magnetic tape, and an interface circuit for converting a format of the high definition television signal into a recording format of the digital video cassette recorder in a recording mode, converting a format of a playback signal from the digital video cassette recorder into a high definition television format or a standard television format in a playback mode and performing a plurality of screen processing functions in a standard television manner. According to the present invention, a compatibility is provided between a standard TV system and a HDTV system.

Abstract: A combination tape measure and light bulb assembly disclosed. A light bulb assembly is affixed to the free end of a semi rigid tape measure. A strip of electrically conductive material is applied to the bottom of the tape measure, with various electrical switching mechanisms described to connect this strip of material to a source of electric current, and thereby light the bulb whenever required by the operator. The light bulb assembly includes a reflector plate for increasing illumination coming from the bulb, and a clear plastic shield for the bulb. The light bulb assembly can also include a magnet to further add to the utility of the combination.

Abstract: A globe mounting device for a ceiling lamp is capable of supporting a glass globe safely and is also capable of maintaining the globe safely fixed for a long period of time by providing cushion materials to support the globe resiliently and having plate springs press downwardly against the globe. The invention comprises a lamp device holder which has a short cylindrical casing and an annular radial flange extending therefrom, a U-shaped supporting bracket with outwardly extending supporting pieces at both ends thereof to which cushion materials are fixed and insulating plate bolts for fixing the insulating plate and the supporting bracket to the short cylindrical casing and a semispherical glass globe having cut out recesses at opposing sides of an inwardly extending flange at the top end thereof. According to the invention, the globe can be fixed safely and kept fixedly safely for a long period of time.

Abstract: A car phone antenna assembly which comprises a whip, a base mounted on a window of a car and a coupling unit having the structure for a capacitive tuning circuit. The coupling unit further comprises a coupling plate which acts as a coupling capacitor together with the base, first and second inductor members, and a variable capacitor member which can fine tune the resonant frequency of the antenna assembly.
