  • Patent number: 6256194
Abstract: A latch assembly including a lug, a rack, and a lever is provided for portable computer. The lug rotatably mounted on a cover case. A hook formed on the other end of lug protrudes through a hook opening of cover case in a closed position so as to be securely connected to hook holder of a main body case through a front opening of the main body case in a closed position and is securely located into inside of the cover case in the open position so as to avoid being broken and injuring an user. The rack slidably disposed within the cover case allows the lug to be projected through the cover case or to be located underneath the cover case. The lever disposed at an outer surface of the cover case is connected to the rack to causes the rack to slidably and linearly move and the lug to rotate and to protrude from and retract into the surface of the cover case. Protrusions formed on the lever contacts a pair of convex portion of the cover case so as to securely maintain the closed or open position.

  • Patent number: 6236593
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for programming flash memories, each of which has a memory cell array divided into plural blocks. Each of the blocks is associated with block status information indicating whether it is valid. According to the programming method of the present invention, first, a parallel-programming process is performed for valid blocks of all of the flash memories. Then, a serial-programming process is performed for flash memories having invalid blocks. This enables the time required for programming flash memories with one or more invalid blocks to be reduced.

  • Patent number: 5132785
Abstract: A data selector capable of digitally separating I signal components from Q signal components of carrier chrominance signal in a NTSC system. The data selector of the present invention, using the fact that I and Q components of a carrier chrominance signal have mutual phase difference of 90.degree., drives a first set of buffers to have a phase difference of 90.degree. by a reference clock with a frequency of 4 times that of the carrier frequency, so that the I and Q components are sampled. The outputs of the buffers are output as the I and Q signals through a second set of buffers alternately driven with a frequency of twice that of the carrier frequency. As a result, a chrominance signal demodulator utilizing a simple circuit capable of achieving high speed data processing, miniaturization, and cost reduction can be provided.

  • Patent number: 5126893
Abstract: The present invention discloses a circuit for reproducing a digital signal which is recorded on a recording medium with high density. The reproducing circuit of the present invention adds an output obtained by differentially amplifying the signal, picked up with a playback head, with respect to a predetermined reference voltage, an amplified output delayed by a predetermined time 1T and a different amplified output delayed by 2T, thereby widening the pulse width of the reproduced waveform to be equalized. Accordingly, even a feeble isolated pulse of high density can be exactly reproduced, and the deterioration of the reproducing picture quality or the sound quality can be prevented.
