    Abstract: A pharmaceutical composition for treating acne includes eicosapentaenoic acid and .alpha.-linolenic acid, in a weight ratio of 1:0.1 to 20.0 of eicosapentaenoic acid to .alpha.-linolenic acid, respectively, and, optionally, vitamin E as an antioxidant. Eicosapentaenoic acid and .alpha.-linolenic acid, which are effective components of the composition of the present invention, may be extracted from natural substances such as fish oil and perilla oil, respectively.
