Abstract: An apparatus and a method for providing other Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services (e.g., Skype, Google talk, and the like) using a terminal which supports an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network are provided. The apparatus includes an interworking apparatus for converting information received from a VoIP service network to information supportable by an IMS terminal to interwork the IMS terminal and other VoIP services not supported by the IMS terminal, and converting information received from the IMS terminal to information supportable by a VoIP service network.

Abstract: A presence service providing system and method is disclosed that provides presence information regarding presentities to watchers. The presence system sets mapping information, which contains the presence information that matches position information corresponding to at least one presentity. When the position information is received via a positioning system, the presence system detects the presence information, which matches the received position information, from the set mapping information. The detected presence information is transmitted from the presence system to a watcher. The presence service providing system can provide a variety of presence information according to the location of the presentity, so that watchers can more specifically and clearly identify the states of the presentity from the presence information.

Abstract: A data push service system and method using a heterogeneous network. The system transmits push data to a Hybrid Access Terminal (HAT) in a heterogeneous mobile communication system in which at least one circuit network overlaps with at least one packet network. The HAT can be connected to a circuit network or a packet network, and is registered in a new access network. The system includes a Packet Service & Mobility Gateway (PSMG) for acquiring access state and connection information of the HAT from the circuit network and the packet network, and generating an access network switching request upon receipt of an external request signal; and a Push Proxy Gateway (PPG) for acquiring access information of the HAT which will transmit the push data from the PSMG, and transmitting a request message to the PSMG.

Abstract: A method is provided for providing a multimedia content type ring-back by an origination terminal in a communication system. The method includes providing a multimedia content type ring-back including menu keys mapped to services; and providing a service mapped to a particular menu key, upon receipt of the particular menu key while providing the multimedia content type ring-back. Further, a method is provided for providing a multimedia content type bell by a destination terminal in a communication system. The method includes providing a multimedia content type bell including menu keys mapped to services; and providing a service mapped to a particular menu key, upon receipt of the particular menu key while providing the multimedia content type bell.

Abstract: A method and system for providing service menu information when an alerting service is provided between a calling terminal and a called terminal are provided. For this includes transmitting, by a calling terminal, a call setup request message including a service menu request; comparing, by a first server, service capability information of the calling terminal with service capability information of a called terminal, when it is necessary to evaluate the service capability information of the calling and called terminals, upon receipt of the call setup request message; and providing, by the first server, service menu to the calling and called terminals according to the comparison.

Abstract: A system and method for providing multimedia portal contents in a communication system. The method provides a ring-back tone to a calling terminal, the calling terminal sets first multimedia portal contents to be provided as the ring-back tone in consideration of given information of a calling terminal user. A called terminal sets second multimedia portal contents to provide as the ring-back tone in consideration of the given information of the calling terminal user, and the calling and called terminals transmit call connection setup related signals including set information. A first server receives the call connection setup-related signals and provides specific multimedia portal contents as the ring-back tone when the calling and called terminals set the multimedia portal contents, and provides the determined multimedia portal contents to the calling terminal.

Abstract: A system and method for providing an Internet Protocol (IP)-based service in a communication system are provided. In an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) communication system, a menu server generates a service object based on service capability information of a subscriber received from a service provider, and a terminal activates the service object received from the menu server so that the subscriber can easily use services. The user can select one of services from a service menu displayed on the terminal and immediately implement the selected service.

Abstract: A method for providing push-to-talk (PTT) so as to conference between a plurality of user equipments (UEs) serving as clients in a mobile communication network including a PTT over cellular (PoC) server, a conference server, and a mixer for mixing for the conference. The method comprises performing a request procedure for switching over to the conference during a PoC session between the UEs; performing a conference client invitation or participation procedure for opening a conference session through the conference server; and performing a procedure for releasing the conference session between the PoC server and the UEs. The method can switch over to a conference service during a PTT service without newly initializing the conference service after completing an old PoC session, and can also switch over to bidirectional communication between all or some of the participants during a PoC session which is using unidirectional communications.

Abstract: A method and system are provided for servicing a full duplex call in Push-To-Talk over cellular (PoC) in a communication system including at least two or more calling/called terminals for receiving a Push-To-Talk (PTT) service and a mobile network for providing the PTT service to the calling/called terminals. The calling terminal generates a full-duplex mode request message and transmits the full-duplex mode request message to the mobile network. The mobile network transmits the full-duplex mode request message to a PoC server that provides a PoC service to the calling terminal. Upon receiving the full-duplex mode request message, a PoC server of the calling terminal sets the calling terminal to a full duplex mode, and transmits the full-duplex mode request message to a PoC server of the called terminal.

Abstract: A method of providing a push service to an AT and a push server apparatus using the same to facilitate a data receiving service comprising reception of paging messages at the AT in a mobile communication system for high-speed data transmission are provided. The mobile communication system comprises at least one DLR for allocating a UATI to the AT when a communication is connected to the AT, a home DLR for storing the ID of the AT with respect to the identification information of the DLR, a PDSN for establishing a PPP session with the AT, a DNS, and a push server for buffering push data for the AT received from a CN and requesting paging of the AT for push data transmission to the AT from which the PPP session has been terminated.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for connecting to one of different types of access networks in a heterogeneous network system in which the access networks overlap each other. The apparatus and method include attempting to connect to one of said one or more access networks according to a preset priority and receiving a communication service through the access network when a connection to the access network is successful; and attempting to connect to an access network having a next priority according to the preset priority when the connection to the access network is unsuccessful.

Abstract: A method automatically measures parameter data relating to wireless network environment in a code division multiple access(CDMA) system. First, if a server's telephone number is detected from power-on registration data stored in a storage device, then a connection with the server is attempted through a mobile station with a data service function using the server's telephone number. Thereafter, if there is test plan program data from the server after the connection is made, the parameter data is measured using another mobile station with a diagnostic monitor function based on the test plan program data. The measured parameter data is then collected and parsed to obtain sets of measured parameter data, each set having a different kind of measured data; and, finally, the sets of measured parameter data are transmitted to the server using the mobile station with the data service function when there is a data transmission request from the server.

Abstract: A method creating PLD in CDMA and PCS system has the step of classifying data file according to the applied fields for each system, the step of creating the initial data file DG_INIT for all equipped systems by using the classified data, the step of creating the initial default data file in order to make the basic PLD, which is used in adding/removing systems, the step of creating relation dictionary such as key dictionary and attribute dictionary data file for each system, the step of writing the PLD header information and the relation dictionary information per each system into the main part of DG_INIT data file created in the step of creating the DG_INIT, the step of creating a list data file having information about the file needed for each system, the step of creating the PLD by using the data files created in the above steps.

Abstract: A method for managing data in a maintenance system of a digital cellular system which provides for the simultaneous management (i.e., change, addition and removal) of a plurality of data via a unified man machine communication (MMC). The method includes steps such as requesting, by the unified MMC, changing, adding, removing and display operations of data contained in either a single tuple data list or data contained in a plurality of tuple data lists, reading data from a table that provides either the single tuple data list or the plurality of tuple data lists, and performing the changing, adding, removing and display operations of the data via the unified MMC.
