  • Publication number: 20240136531
Abstract: A conductive composite material, a method of preparing the same, and a secondary battery including the same. The conductive composite material may increase the proportion of an active material when forming an electrode by chemically bonding a conductive material and a binder to each other. A method of preparing the conductive composite material comprises ionizing carbon-based particles in a predetermined polarity, ionizing PTFE particles in a polarity different from that of the carbon-based particles, and chemically bonding the ionized carbon-based particles and the ionized PTFE particles, which are ionized in different polarities, to each other.

  • Publication number: 20130297254
Abstract: A spectrometer for identifying a mixture is provided. The spectrometer includes a detector configured to generate a signal based on an interaction of light with a sample of the mixture, and a memory device having a library and a correlation matrix stored therein, wherein the library includes a plurality of spectra, each spectrum associated with a respective compound, and wherein the correlation matrix includes a correlation between each possible pair of spectra in the library. The spectrometer further includes a processor coupled to the memory device and configured to determine a spectrum of the mixture based on the signal generated by the detector, calculate a correlation vector that includes a correlation between the mixture spectrum and each spectrum in the library, and identify the mixture based on the correlation matrix and the correlation vector.

  • Publication number: 20120268272
Abstract: A method for detecting contraband is provided. The method includes acquiring tomographic image data of a subject at a plurality of frequencies using low frequency electromagnetic tomography, generating a composite image of the subject at each of the plurality of frequencies using the acquired tomographic image data, determining a differentiation parameter for a tissue material at each of the plurality of frequencies, determining a differentiation parameter for a non-tissue material at each of the plurality of frequencies, decomposing the composite images into a tissue image and a non-tissue image using the determined differentiation parameters, wherein the tissue image contains any region of the subject composed of the tissue material and the non-tissue image contains any region of the subject composed of the non-tissue material, and determining whether the non-tissue image contains any non-tissue material.

  • Patent number: 8271209
Abstract: Methods, systems and computer program products for identifying components of an unknown mixture using spectral analysis techniques. The method includes comparing the spectrum of the unknown mixture with the spectra of library compounds to obtain candidate mixture combinations. A model is generated for each of the candidate mixture combinations based on a modeling metric. A residual spectrum is computed corresponding to each of the candidate mixture combinations by removing the spectrum of each of the compounds of the candidate mixture combination from the spectrum of the unknown mixture. One or more potential compounds are identified by comparing the residual spectrum with the spectrum of library compounds. The potential compounds are added to the candidate mixture combinations to generate an updated list of the candidate mixture combinations. The search algorithm repeats the steps described above on the updated candidate mixture combinations, until a first termination condition is satisfied.
