  • Patent number: 10797464
Abstract: The present invention relates to a wavelength locking structure for a tunable laser and a wavelength locking method for a tunable laser. According to the present invention, since it is possible to use only one element for measuring the intensity of light, the number of parts is reduced in comparison to methods of the related art, so it is possible to perform wavelength locking economically with a down-sized structure.

  • Patent number: 9106361
Abstract: The present invention relates to a passive wavelength division multiplexing device for automatic wavelength locking and a system thereof including an optical multiplexer, an optical filter, an integrated optical receiver monitor, and a tunable optical transmitter. Through wavelength locking that adjusts a wavelength of an optical signal, which changes according to an external environment such as a temperature change, into a wavelength of an optical signal having the maximum optical intensity, communication quality may be maximized by securing a stable communication channel, a locking time and a communication channel setting time may be reduced, and more robust locking may be guaranteed.

  • Publication number: 20110116740
Abstract: Provided is an optical communication device including optical switches. The optical communication device a first multi-mode core disposed on a substrate, the first multi-mode core extending in a first direction and second multi-mode cores disposed on a substrate, the second multi-mode cores parallelly extending in a second direction non-parallel to the first direction to intersect the first multi-mode core. The heaters respectively intersect intersectional regions between the first and second multi-mode cores.

  • Publication number: 20100208756
Abstract: The present invention relates to a laser module based on a waveguide tunable in a broad wavelength band. More specifically, the laser module comprises: a broadband light source based on an external resonator that generates optical signals; a waveguide; at least one Bragg grating formed on the waveguide; an optical lens provided between the light source and the waveguide; a first temperature controlling device configured of a thin film heater; and a second temperature controlling device that includes a temperature sensor and a thermoelectric cooler, wherein the light output from the light source being condensed through the optical lens and input to the waveguide, and a reflecting band of the Bragg grating is controlled by a thermo-optic effect, and an oscillation wavelength is controlled by a second temperature controlling device independently of external temperature environment.
