Abstract: A packet processing method using a multiple fault tolerant network structure capable of performing communication of a whole ring and disusing a useless packet when a fault occurs on a plurality of connection lines and nodes by using a dual ring structure. Nodes are connected as a ring shape separately having two input lines and two output lines, and each node selects one packet after receiving two inputs and disuses the other packet and transmits the select packet through the two output lines at the same time. The present invention can solve the fault problem occurred on a multiple link or nodes, can perform network function efficiently by disusing a useless packet, accordingly it is possible to perform stable operation for several years or several decades after the network installation and decrease maintenance expenses.

Abstract: A fault tolerant network using a dual cross path for real-time switching and packet handling method are disclosed. In DRDT-II, one of two packets received from two input ports is selected, the other is discarded, and two duplicated packets are transmitted through two output ports. That is, one link bypasses one node. In DRDT-III, the other link bypasses two nodes. Even when fault occurs in neighboring nodes at the same time, only these nodes are abandoned, and remaining nodes can be communicated with one another, improving the reliability of the network.

Abstract: There are effects that the page table does not have to be administrated since the process of backing up to a disc is not necessary, that the small unit lock is possible since the backup and recovery are performed in block units, that long copy time, which was one of the greatest disadvantages in performing the transaction, is negligible, so that all the burdens imposed on the transaction can be removed and, high speed transaction processing and recovery can be performed.
