    Abstract: A light detection circuit employed in an electronic device such as an integrated circuit card is disclosed. The light detection circuit having a constant voltage supply connected to a power supply voltage, a sensing circuit including an element responsive to light and connected to the power supply voltage, a first comparator for determining a current sensing state according to an exposure to light, a latch circuit for storing the output of the first circuit, and a second comparator for generating an output signal which controls the constant voltage supply, the sensing circuit, and the latch circuit. The latch circuit outputs a light detection signal in response to the output of the second comparator.
