Abstract: A diagnosis method for use with peripheral devices includes diagnosing states of the peripheral devices connected to a host, automatically and periodically, and outputting a history of diagnostic results to a predetermined storage unit. The diagnosis method further includes automatically stopping the diagnosis of the peripheral devices if the peripheral devices are operated by a user during the diagnosis, and resuming or restarting the diagnosis of the peripheral devices when the peripheral devices or the host return to idle. Consequently, a vendor of one of the peripheral devices may recognize the problems in the peripheral device, to efficiently manage the peripheral device while reducing cost for after-sale service.
