Patent number: 9401831Abstract: An apparatus and method for removing a Direct Current (DC) offset at a receiving terminal in a wireless communication system are provided. In the method, a frame is divided into at least two time resource blocks. Resource allocation information is used to discriminate between at least one time resource block of a data-unmapped interval and at least one time resource block of a data-mapped interval. The DC offset is measured during the data-unmapped interval. The DC offset is compensated during the data-unmapped interval on a time resource block basis by using the measured DC offset.Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 2010Date of Patent: July 26, 2016Assignee: Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hyun-Jung Jung, Young-Il Son, Hye-Won Nam, Yong-Won Shin, In-Chun Lim

Patent number: 7899406Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus in a diversity system of a mobile terminal having a main receiving unit and a sub-receiving unit, which includes a sub-antenna for receiving an input signal and a part of a transmitted signal of a transmitting unit, a band-pass filter (BPF) designed to greatly attenuate a low-band frequency of the part of the transmitted signal received through the sub-antenna, a high-pass filter (HPF) for additionally attenuating the part of the transmitted signal attenuated through the BPF, a low-noise amplifier for minimizing a noise of an output value of the HPF, an HPF for passing therethrough only a high-frequency component of an output value of the low-noise amplifier, and a mixer for mixing output values of the HPF and outputting a baseband signal. One of two BPFs in the sub-receiving unit is replaced by one HPF, and thus the HPF can be fabricated on chip with the terminal receiving unit.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2005Date of Patent: March 1, 2011Assignee: Samsung Electronics Co., LtdInventors: Sang-Kook Han, Seong-Joong Kim, Young-Il Son

Patent number: 7676244Abstract: Disclosed is a multi-mode/multi-band wireless transceiver. The multi-mode/multi-band wireless transceiver includes a tunable duplexer including transmission and reception channel filters of which transmission and reception channel filtering frequencies respectively are controlled by an external element; and a control portion for controlling the transmission and reception channel filtering frequencies to correspond to transmission and reception channels of a current service band. Thus, a use of a RF SAW filter is unnecessary, while it is possible to support the multi-mode/multi-band using a tunable duplexer. Therefore, the number of parts and volume of the transceiver can be reduced, and it is possible to weaken a specification of an RF system.Type: GrantFiled: August 17, 2006Date of Patent: March 9, 2010Assignee: Samsung Electronics Co., LtdInventors: Hyung-Weon Park, Young-Il Son, Woo-Yong Lee

Patent number: 7610747Abstract: A side thruster module, comprises: a cavity-type body skin extending in a longitudinal direction; a first thruster arranged in the body skin and extending in a longitudinal direction; and a conversion nozzle arranged in the body skin and extending in a radial direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, for converting a direction of a thrust generated from the first thruster in the longitudinal direction into the radial direction. A large number of thrusters can be mounted at the side thruster module thus to generate a high thrust, and the side thruster module can be slim in the radial direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction.Type: GrantFiled: August 14, 2006Date of Patent: November 3, 2009Assignee: Agency for Defense DevelopmentInventors: Won-Hoon Kim, Won-Man Cho, Bang-Eop Lee, Soon-Il Moon, Young-Il Son

Publication number: 20070243832Abstract: A multimode/multiband mobile station and a method for operating the same are provided. A transmission module transmits multimode/multiband signals through transmitters. A reception module receives radio signals for different services of the same frequency band among multimode/multiband signals through receivers for the same frequency band, and receives radio signals of different frequency bands among the multimode/multiband signals through receivers for the different frequency bands. As compared with the conventional mobile station, the multimode/multiband mobile station can reduce the number of receivers by making use of one receiver to receive radio signals for different services of the same frequency band. The multimode/multiband mobile station can use a duplexer of the conventional frequency division duplex (FDD) technique (e.g., wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA)) in a time division duplex (TDD) technique (e.g.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2005Publication date: October 18, 2007Inventors: Hyung-Weon Park, Woo-Yong Lee, Young-Il Son, Seong-Eun Kim, Michael Brobston, Lup Loh
