  • Patent number: 6161301
Abstract: A continuous drying apparatus for a porous web including a porous web for traveling on a drying line, a heating cylinder for contacting the porous web at its circumferential surface and rotating in synchronization with the travel of the porous web to heat the porous web, a drying band for contacting and supporting a surface of the porous web which is out of contact with the heating cylinder and also for rotating in synchronization with the travel of the porous web, and a pressure rotating body disposed near the circumference of the heating cylinder and outside the drying band. The pressure rotating body is constructed of a rotating member for rotating and contacting an exterior surface of the drying band and a pressure device for pressurizing the rotating member toward the heating cylinder. With this, a porous web can be efficiently dried.

  • Patent number: 6076275
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a technique on a continuous drying apparatus for porous web, which comprises a heating cylinder, an impermeable drying band impermeable to air and water, coming into contact with and supporting the surface on the side having no contact with the heating cylinder of the porous web, and a plurality of water lubricating shoe members arranged around the heating cylinder apart a desired distance from the external side of the impermeable drying band, for forming a water screen flow between them and the external surface of the impermeable drying band, whereby an effective drying of the porous web is achieved.

  • Patent number: 5272298
Abstract: A vacuum deposition apparatus has a slit-like nozzle formed in a receptacle accommodating a vacuum deposition material to effect uniform vacuum deposition of the material in the direction of width of a moving base material. The receptacle is made of graphite. An inductively heated body is disposed at the upper part of the receptacle and is provided with the small slit-like nozzle. The nozzle extends in the direction of width of the moving base material. The vaporized vacuum deposition material passes through the nozzle and is deposited uniformly in the direction of width of the moving base material.

  • Patent number: 4705654
Abstract: A wetted wall type method of humidifying gas with a liquid which is composed, or mainly composed, of water wherein the liquid flows down a heated vertical wall to form a wetted wall and gas flows along the wetted wall in contact with the liquid on the wetted wall to increase the humidity contained in the gas, comprises supplying a greater amount of liquid than the amount of liquid used or evaporated for increasing the humidity, and recirculating the liquid which is not evaporated from an outlet of the wetted wall to a liquid supply portion, the amount of the flowing liquid being adapted to satisfy the following equation:q<5.99.times.10.sup.5 .GAMMA..sup.2.12 (1)wherein q is the heat flux in W/m.sup.2 K where W=watts, K=temperature in degrees Kelvin, and .GAMMA. is the amount of flowing water with regard to the mass of water per unit wet width in kg/ms.
