Abstract: Embodiments of an apparatus and method for recovering a system from system crisis can start a crisis recovering routine by pressing a prescribed button (e.g., existing power button) for a predetermined time when the system is not started or abnormally operated. Embodiments can recover a ROM BIOS by reading information for crisis recovering routine from a memory in the system or from an external storage device. Accordingly, the ROM BIOS is recovered without additional operations of key input or additional keys by setting the information of starting the emergency recovering routine in the memory when the power button is activated, and the system can be recovered from the system crisis by performing POST operations based on the recovered ROM BIOS.

Abstract: Embodiments of a computer system and method thereof that can generate a beep sound (e.g., buzzer speaker sound) using an external speaker or the like. The computer system can include a south bridge, a trap handler for trapping beep data when the writing operations of the beep data are performed by ports related to the generation of beep sound of the south bridge, and an audio codec for receiving the beep data trapped by the trap handler to convert the beep data into an audio signal.
