  • Publication number: 20190357663
Abstract: This invention is in the field of hair brushes, and more particularly to hair brushes constructed using a glove as the base and spongy material as the bristles. An increasing number of men and women have elected to forgo using chemicals on their hair, instead opting for natural hairstyles. These natural hairstyles often require the use of unique hair styling equipment to produce a desired look. In particular, men and women with coarse hair have begun using a technique called “palm rolling” to curl the ends of their hair after it reaches a length of approximately 1.5 inches to 6 inches. This technique involves applying the palm of one's hand to the hair and rubbing in a circular motion to produce a swirl or curl pattern. The problem with this technique is that the palm does not contain the porous or rough surface required to manipulate or form the hair into the desired shape. This makes the process of forming the hair into a swirl or curl pattern very long and tedious.

  • Publication number: 20170325563
Abstract: Disclosed is a hair styling device and its employment in a specific styling method. The device comprises an elastomeric block having an elliptically-shaped substantially smooth top surface, a patterned, sculptured and textured bottom surface, and a continuous side panel integrally connected to the edges of both the top surface and the bottom surface. The bottom surface is further constructed with parallel V-shaped channels and a plurality of regularly-spaced circular chambers, the chambers being orthogonal to the bottom surface. The device is used by placing the bottom-located channels and chambers against sections of hair while simultaneously using varying pressure and rotary movement of the bottom surface upon the hair. In this manner the hair may be styled into a multiplicity of twists or spirals.

  • Publication number: 20170325564
Abstract: Disclosed is a hair styling apparatus and its employment in specific hairstyling methods. The apparatus is a mechanized, motorized device configured to operate in conjunction with a hairstyling attachment, said device comprising an ordered arrangement of components which, when motorized in a connected manner, cause the meshed rotation of two internal pivot gears, the pivot gears having irregularly-spaced undersurface dock holes connectable to a planar grip housing. The pivot gears induce selectable rotation modes of the planar grip housing; further, the grip housing is capable of securely gripping the attachment. A preferred attachment comprises an elastomeric block having an elliptically-contoured, substantially smooth top surface, and a patterned, sculptured bottom surface constructed with parallel V-shaped channels and a plurality of circular chambers.
