    Abstract: Nano- and micro-particles (NMP) can be formed from an oil/water emulsion. The emulsion is made by mixing a liquid solvent, at least one surfactant, a particle-forming compound, and at least curing agent. If desired, pH control agents and viscosity enhancers can be added to the liquid solvent. The particle-forming compound and the curing agents are mixed together and form the oil phase in the emulsion and after curing, the particles are formed. The nano- and micro-particles can be used as proppant to enhance the conductivity of nano- and microfractures and fluid-loss-control additive for hydraulic fracturing operations.

    Abstract: Retrographic sensors described herein may provide smaller sensors capable of high-resolution three-dimensional reconstruction of an object in contact with the sensor. Such sensors may be used by robots for work in narrow environments, fine manipulation tasks, and other applications. To provide a smaller sensor, a reduced number of light sources may be provided in the sensor in some embodiments. For example, three light sources, two light sources, or one light source, may be used in some sensors. When fewer light sources are provided, full color gradient information may not be provided. Instead, the missing gradients in one direction or other information related to a three-dimensional object in contact with the sensor may be determined using gradients in a different direction that were provided by the real data. This may be done using a trained statistical model, such as a neural network, in some embodiments.

    Abstract: A method for processing a video with a dynamic video-based super-resolution network and a circuit system are provided. In the method, quality scores used to assess a quality of an input video are calculated based on image features of the input video. A moving average algorithm is performed on the quality scores of multiple frames of the input video for obtaining a moving average score. Two corresponding weight tables are selected according to the moving average score. The two weight tables are used to calculate a blending weight that is applied to a neural network super-resolution algorithm. The blending weight is applied to the neural network super-resolution algorithm, so as to produce an output video.
