    Abstract: A stable three-dimensional core-shell metal-nitride catalyst consisting of NiFeN nanoparticles decorated on NiMoN nanorods supported on porous Ni foam (NiMoN@NiFeN), which functions as an oxygen evolution reaction catalyst for alkaline seawater electrolysis. It yields large current densities of 500 and 1000 mA cm?2 at overpotentials of 369 and 398 mV, respectively, in alkaline natural seawater at 25° C. Combined with an efficient hydrogen evolution reaction catalyst of NiMoN nanorods, current densities of 500 and 1000 mA cm?2 at low voltages of 1.608 and 1.709 V, respectively are achieved for overall alkaline seawater splitting at 60° C.

    Abstract: In an approach to deploying parallelizable deep learning models by adapting to the computing devices, a deep learning model is split into a plurality of slices, where each slice can exchange data with related slices. Virtual models are created from the plurality of slices, where the virtual models are based on capabilities of a plurality of devices on which the one or more virtual models are to be deployed, and further where each virtual model contains each slice of the plurality of slices. The one or more virtual models are stored in a cache. Responsive to determining that the deep learning model is to be deployed on one or more devices, a candidate model is selected from the virtual models in the cache, where the selection is based on information from a device monitor about the devices.

    Abstract: A transparent conductive substrate structure used for a thermoforming process includes a transparent cover plate and a touch sensing layer structure. The transparent cover plate includes a toughening layer on one side thereof. The touch sensing layer structure arranged on one surface of the toughening layer, and includes a first transparent conductive layer, a dielectric layer, a barrier layer, a second transparent conductive layer, and a buffer protective layer. Each transparent conductive layer is directly applied to the transparent cover plate, so that the thickness between the transparent conductive layers is below 1 ?m. The thickness between layers may be reduced to increase the sensitivity of the touch sensing layer structure. To prevent each transparent conductive layer and an electrode wire layer from breaking during the thermoforming process, the transparent conductive substrate structure is combined with the buffer protective layer to strengthen the structure of each transparent conductive layer.

    Abstract: Manufacturing techniques for fabricating a polymer or other substrate optimized for growing cells is described, which takes the form of a micro-thin bag with gas permeable sides. Sides of the bag can be held at a fixed distance from one another with a multitude of tiny micropillars or other spacers extending between them, keeping the bag at a predetermined thickness and preventing the bag from collapsing and the sides from sticking together. In other embodiments, the sides may be held apart by gas pressure alone. A 0.01 ?m to 1000 ?m parylene or other biocompatible coating over the bag outsides controls the permeability of the bag material and provides a bio-safe area for cell growth. An alternate configuration uses open-cell foam with skins coated with a biocompatible coating. Tubes going into multiple bags can be connected to a manifold that delivers gaseous oxygen or removes carbon dioxide and other waste gases.
