  • Patent number: 8351178
Abstract: A first electronic device includes an electromagnetic component embedded in its connecting port and controlled to be activated during data transmission between the first electronic device and a second electronic device to which the first electronic device is connecting, or during memory accessing of the first electronic device. As the electromagnetic component is activated, an attraction force exists between the two connecting ports of the first and the second electronic devices such that a user of the first electronic device will feel a resistance when he/she tries to disconnect the first electronic device from the second electronic device.

  • Publication number: 20090013134
Abstract: A memory apparatus and method for protecting the memory apparatus are provided. The memory apparatus includes a memory unit, a memory control unit, a switch and a control circuit. The memory control unit is used for reading from or writing to the memory unit and has a build-in protection unit. The switch has a lock end and a normal end. The control circuit is coupled between the switch and the memory control unit and is used for detecting the position of the switch. Once the switch is switched to the lock end and the memory apparatus receives a working voltage, the protection unit is automatically enabled by the control circuit to inhibit the memory control unit from reading data from or writing data to the memory unit.

  • Publication number: 20080022415
Abstract: An authority limit management method is proposed for a digital media storage. The digital media storage includes at least one micro processor and at least one memory unit and connected to an access device. A classification authorization code index (CAC index) and a plurality of classification operation commands (COC) is pre-stored in the digital media storage and an identification code is set for the access device. The classification operation commands is performed to calculate a classification authorization code when the digital media storage is connected to the access device for initial transmission protocol. The authority limit of the memory unit for the access device is granted to the access device according to the classification authorization code. Therefore, the data of the digital media storage can be prevented from illegal copy or hacker.

  • Patent number: 7031570
Abstract: A device and a method of temperature compensating are disclosed. The device and method are employed for temperature compensation of a section of optical fiber. The device and method are useful for limiting any change in optical properties of the section of optical fiber or optical structures that can be corrected by changing the linear dimension accordingly. Such optical properties include the characteristic wavelengths of FBGs, Fabry-Perot cavities, and the like. The device includes a composite plate comprising plural fiber laminae, each of which has a designed orientation, and having a specific temperature-dependent characteristic in a direction for compensating an optical component positioned thereon having a temperature-dependent deformation, wherein said specific temperature-dependent characteristic is determined by said designed orientations of said plural fiber laminae.
