  • Publication number: 20080019036
Abstract: A positioning device includes two guiding members fixed spacedly in a housing. Each guiding member has a hook-shaped guiding slot having an elongate first slot portion, and a curved second slot portion defined by front and rear stop walls. A pivot member is connected pivotally to a detachable module. Two positioning rods of the pivot member are respectively guided by the first slot portions of the guiding slots in the guiding members to move rearwardly as a result of rearward movement of the detachable module until the positioning rods abut respectively against the rear stop walls. The pivot member is then pivoted to move the positioning rods to abut respectively against the front stop walls, thereby resulting in further rearward movement of the detachable module by a predetermined distance in response to continuous pivoting of the pivot member.

  • Publication number: 20070211422
Abstract: The removable hard disk housing assembly includes a housing base, a hard disk bracket connected to a rear side of the housing base for carrying a hard disk, a securing handle pivotably mounted to a front side of the housing base, a locking hook pivotably mounted to the securing handle and a restoring spring. The locking hook has a hooking portion and is rotatable along a longitudinal direction relative to the securing handle. The hooking portion is selectively engaged in or departed from the engaging opening of the housing base. The restoring spring is disposed between the securing handle and the locking hook to provide a restoring force to the locking hook. Therefore, the hard disk housing assembly is prevented from falling off when it is subjected to an external force, and the locking hook is located along a longitudinal direction to increase a heat-dissipating space.

  • Publication number: 20070211424
Abstract: An apparatus includes a casing and a latch unit. The latch unit includes first and second latch members, first and second interlocking members, a driving member, and an operating member. The first latch member is provided on a disk drive. The first interlocking member is formed on the first latch member. The second latch member is pivoted to the casing, and is rotatable relative to the casing between latched and unlatched positions. The second interlocking member is formed on the second latch member, and engages releasably the first interlocking member when the disk drive is received in the casing and when the second latch member is disposed at the latched position. The driving member is pivoted to the casing. The operating member is pivoted to the casing, and is operable so as to drive rotation of the second latch member to the unlatched position through the driving member.

  • Patent number: 7256989
Abstract: The removable hard disk housing assembly includes a housing substrate, a hard disk supporting frame, a rotatable handle, a supporting piece, two plates-liked elements and two springs. The hard disk supporting frame is connected with the housing substrate to support a hard disk. The rotatable handle is positioned at the front side of the housing substrate. The supporting piece is rotatably positioned at the housing substrate. The plates-liked elements are movably positioned within the housing substrate and are pulled by supporting piece and protrude and retract in respond to movement of the supporting piece. Two springs are positioned between the plate-liked elements and the housing substrate and are used to bias the plate-liked elements. It prevents the hard disk from falling off when the assembly is subjected to external forces. The assembly is fixed by two extension portions so that force used to fix the assembly is well distributed.
