Abstract: An electrical receptacle connector includes a circuit board, an insulation body, and two side metal arms. The circuit board has a board fringe connection portion, an output portion, and an intermediate portion. The board fringe connection portion includes a plurality of trace tails. A metal strip is electrically fixed on each trace tail. The insulation body encapsulates the intermediate portion. The insulation body also covers the board fringe connection portion with exposing the metal strips. The two side metal arms are disposed close to two opposite sides of the board fringe connection portion. The two side metal arms both are embedded in the insulation body but are at least partially exposed from the insulation body.

The insulator includes a tongue and a base connected to the tongue. The first contact set and the second contact set are disposed inside the insulator and exposed out of a first side and a second side of the tongue opposite to each other. The U-shaped shielding structure is disposed on the base and at least partially exposed out of the base. The first plate member extends from an end portion of the U-shaped shielding structure along a third side adjacent to the first side and the second side of the tongue and toward a front end of the tongue. The first plate member includes a first step structure. Therefore, it effectively prevents the tongue from being worn or deformed by insertion and withdrawal forces.
