  • Publication number: 20240262234
Abstract: The following relates generally to charging and discharging electric vehicle (EV) charging station batteries. In some embodiments, a first battery stack is charged by: (i) providing electrical power from a second battery stack to a switch mode power supply, and (ii) providing electrical power from the switch mode power supply to the first battery stack. A controller may then determine an occurrence of a trigger event associated with a first state of charge (SOC) of the first battery stack or a second SOC of the second battery stack. In response to determining the trigger event occurrence, the second battery stack may be charged by: (i) providing electrical power from the first battery stack to the switch mode power supply, and (ii) providing electrical power from the switch mode power supply to the second battery stack.

  • Patent number: 7183842
Abstract: An improved amplifier circuit which effectively combines two amplifier stages by utilizing two nested feedback loops so that an inverting amplifier topology is used with a FET input device, operating as a common source/emitter configuration cascoded by the inverting input of an opamp. The circuit operates as a non-inverting amplifier and is connnected to the drain or collector with local nested feedback to (a) independently control the loop gain, (b) linearize its own operation, and (c) control the stability of the circuit. Additional inputs can be summed using a non-inverting summing circuit. One application reduces distortion derived from a high impedance, capacitive input source.

  • Patent number: 7145442
Abstract: An apparatus, method, system and/or image editing process for presenting visual displays to the driver of a motor vehicle regarding the real time operating condition of the vehicle systems and components. These include the anti-lock braking system, the stability of the vehicle as to proximity to rolling over, the power consumed by vehicle components such as the heating system and lights and/or, for four-wheel drive vehicles, the torque and/or braking forces delivered to the wheels. The information is acquired from sensors and/or from signals generated by the vehicle and it processed by the vehicle CPU or, in another embodiment, by a display CPU, the information being presented in black and white or in color using an LED, LCD, vacuum fluorescent means, numerical display, gauge, meter or PDA.

  • Patent number: 6822156
Abstract: The present invention 10 has two components that provide the signal that is representative of the guitar sound, a primary pickup device 12 and a secondary pickup device 52. The primary device is the piezoelectric pickup 12 that is situated between the strings 18 beneath the saddle 14 of a stringed instrument 16. The primary device 12 is designed to detect the bulk of the sound as well as the tonal nuances. The primary device does not provide ambience. The secondary device 52 as used in one embodiment of the present invention makes use of the physically induced charge modulation properties along both the longitudinal and transverse axis of the interconnecting coax cable 52 that runs from the primary pickup 12 to the impedance changing preamplifier 36. This cable can simulate the ambience that could otherwise be generated from discrete microphones or reverberation devices. An optional pair of pickups 26 may be disposed outside the strings 18.
