  • Publication number: 20240107414
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for switching a secondary cell to a primary cell. A user equipment (UE) monitors a first radio condition of the UE for beams of a primary cell and a second radio condition for beams of one or more secondary cells configured for the UE in carrier aggregation. The UE transmits a request to configure a candidate beam of at least one candidate secondary cell as a new primary cell in response to the first radio condition not satisfying a first threshold and the second radio condition for the at least one candidate secondary cell satisfying a second threshold. A base station determines to reconfigure at least one secondary cell as the new primary cell. The base station and the UE perform a handover of the UE to the new primary cell.

  • Publication number: 20200379048
Abstract: A three-electrode battery cell precisely measures the anode and cathode during cell operation. The successful interpretation of 3-E cell measurements enables accurate tuning of N/P ratio, fine control of electrode potential during operations, and precise cell capacity prediction during early-stage design. The cost-intensive full cell assembly and time-consuming cell testing can be eliminated, and 3-electrode cell testing and analysis can be used to achieve reliable materials sourcing and state-of-the-art cell design with high accuracy and efficiency. The three-electrode cell can be used to analyze and test battery cell designs during pre-production to determine and optimize the capacity, N/P ratio, and voltage window information for mass production of a particular battery design.

  • Publication number: 20200212433
Abstract: Systems and methods for manufacturing an electrode is provided. An example method may comprise disposing, by a blade, a slurry onto a surface of a current collector, the slurry including an active material and a solvent, applying, by an electric field source, an electric field between the blade and the current collector, and drying the slurry applied to the surface of the current collector to remove the solvent. The electric field is applied continuously while the slurry is disposed onto the surface of the current blade. The electric field affects the structure of portions of the slurry by causing a Van der Waals interaction and a polarization attraction between the active material and the current collector. The slurry may include of 95% graphite, 3% of a binder, and 5% of reduced graphene oxide. The solvent may include 4 to 1 mixture of water and isopropyl alcohol.

  • Publication number: 20200212429
Abstract: External forces are applied to a slurry mixture to achieve a more organized slurry structure in the manufacturing of an electrode. A slurry is generated with paramagnetic materials that exhibit magnetic properties when a magnetic field is applied to the slurry. The slurry with the paramagnetic materials is applied to a current conductor, and then a magnetic field is applied to the slurry, for example during an electrode drying process. By applying a magnetic field, the paramagnetic material orientation can be aligned into a more organized structure. In some instances, the alignment creates a porous structure or gap between pillars that form within the dried slurry material. The dried, porous slurry structure allows for electrolyte wetting and ionic accessibility that is greatly improved over electrodes manufactured using typical techniques.
