    Abstract: A wafer position status inspection apparatus includes a wafer transportation device, a robotic arm rotatably mounted on the wafer transportation device, an image capture device arranged on the robotic arm, a light flashing device arranged at one side of the image capture device, and a status inspection section in information connection with the image capture device. An image capturing direction of the image capture device is set consistent with a gripping direction of the robotic arm, and a light projecting direction of the light flashing device is consistent with the image capturing direction. The light flashing device projects light on a wafer to generate a light-reflecting contour, which is captured by the image capture device to form a wafer contour image based on which the status inspection section acquires a wafer deposition status to identify various wafer statuses including incline, overlap, absence, and warp.

    Abstract: A leak check is performed on a semiconductor wafer processing tool that includes a process chamber and process gas lines, and a semiconductor wafer is processed using the semiconductor wafer processing tool if the leak check passes. Each gas line includes a mass flow controller (MFC) and normally closed valves including an upstream and downstream valves upstream and downstream of the MFC. Leak checking includes: leak checking up to the downstream valves of the gas lines with the upstream valves closed and the downstream valves of the gas lines closed; and leak checking up to the upstream valve of each the process gas line with the upstream valves of the of the process gas lines closed and with the downstream valve of the of the process gas line being leak checked open and the downstream valve of every other process gas line closed.

    Abstract: Optoelectronic retinal prostheses transduce light into electrical current for neural stimulation. A novel optoelectronic pixel architecture is presented comprising a vertically integrated photo junction field-effect-transistor (Photo-JFET) and neural stimulating electrode. Experimental measurements demonstrate that optically addressed Photo-JFET pixels utilize phototransistive gain to produce a broad range of neural stimulation current and can effectively stimulate retinal neurons in vitro. The compact nature of the Photo-JFET pixel can enable high resolution retinal prostheses with a theoretical visual acuity ˜20/60 to help restore vision in patients with degenerative retinal diseases.
