Abstract: A fixing device includes a muffler and a catalyst mantle. The muffler is communicated with an exhausting route of an internal combustion engine. The muffler has at least one clapboard to divide inner space thereof for forming a plurality of expanding rooms, which are communicated with each other and configured for guiding waste gas. The catalyst mantle is integrated on the clapboard. The catalyst mantle has an admission terminal and an exhaust terminal communicated with the plurality of expanding rooms. A substrate having catalyst coated thereon is arranged in the catalyst mantle between the admission terminal and the exhaust terminal. At least one block is configured for preventing the substrate sliding to the exhaust terminal and a stopper is formed on the clapboard or an inner wall of the muffler for preventing the substrate sliding to the admission terminal.

The catalyst mantle is integrated on the clapboard. The catalyst mantle has an admission terminal and an exhaust terminal communicated with the plurality of expanding rooms. A substrate having catalyst coated thereon is arranged in the catalyst mantle between the admission terminal and the exhaust terminal. The present fixing device improves the fixing capacity of the substrate, and decreases the manufacturing steps for arranging the catalyst mantle in the silencer.

The metal carrier body is arranged between an upstream portion and a downstream portion of an exhaust passage, and includes a gas entrance for conducting exhaust gas into the metal carrier body from the upstream portion and a gas exit for conducting the exhaust gas in the metal carrier body to the downstream portion. The expansion room is arranged between the gas entrance and the gas exit to communicate with a gas passage between the gas entrance and the gas exit for conducting the exhaust gas to flow between an inside of the metal carrier body and the expansion room.

Abstract: An exhaust gas purification apparatus for an engine includes an exhaust gas bypass connected to the engine, a muffler connected to the exhaust gas bypass, and a catalytic carrier. The muffler defines an outlet communicating with the atmosphere. The catalytic carrier defines a through-hole for receiving catalyst. The catalytic carrier is mounted in the muffler, and at the outlet of the muffler. The through-hole of the catalytic carrier communicates with the atmosphere via the outlet.
