  • Patent number: 11770548
Abstract: A method of encoding video data by an electronic device is provided. A block unit is determined from an image frame according to the video data. A line index is encoded in a bitstream based on a selected reference line of the block unit and is compared with a first predefined value to determine whether to encode a mode flag in the bitstream. A mode index is directly encoded in the bitstream for indicating a prediction mode of the block unit from a most probable mode (MPM) list of the block unit when the mode flag is not encoded. The mode flag is compared to a second predefined value for encoding the mode index when the mode flag is encoded in the bitstream to indicate whether the prediction mode is selected from the MPM list. The block unit is predicted based on the selected reference line and the prediction mode.

  • Publication number: 20230298247
Abstract: Users of electronic eyewear devices can interact with each other by sharing 3D objects (e.g., 2D or 3D augmented reality (AR) objects or scanned 2D or 3D images of real-world objects) with each other via local objects (real or virtual) in each user's environment established as personalized anchor points for social connection. When a user receives an object from another user, the user has the option to generate a connected session with other users that are co-located (physically or virtually at the same location) with the user. The co-located group of users in this new connected session may view the received object either on their personal electronic devices (e.g., smartphones) or on their electronic eyewear devices and can modify and annotate the shared object using collaboration software and AR display tools that enable modification and manipulation of the shared object.

  • Publication number: 20230298220
Abstract: An image processing method including the following steps is provided. An image information of an image is received, wherein the image includes a plurality of blocks and the image information includes a plurality of pixel information of each block. A dual gamma correction is performed on a first group of blocks of the image to obtain one or more corrected blocks and the dual gamma correction is skipped on a second group of blocks of the image to obtain a plurality of uncorrected blocks. A first encoding process is performed on the one or more corrected blocks to obtain a plurality of first encoded blocks. A second encoding process different from the first encoding process is performed on the plurality of uncorrected blocks to obtain a plurality of second encoded blocks.

  • Patent number: 11765115
Abstract: A system and method for recommending emojis to send by a messaging application includes receiving user biosignals from at least one sensor, receiving context information from at least one context source, and selecting, using a rule-based heuristic state selector, a list of plausible user states from possible heuristic states in a heuristic state table based on the received user biosignals and received context information. A state predictor determines, from at least the list of plausible user states and a user model of emojis previously sent in different user states, a list of user states and probabilities that the user will send an emoji for each user state given the context information. The recommended emojis are displayed for selection for sending by the messaging application in order from the highest to the lowest probabilities that the user will send the recommended emojis based on a selected plausible user state.

  • Patent number: 11747915
Abstract: Systems, devices, media, and methods are presented for using a handheld device such as a ring to manipulate a virtual object being displayed by a wearable device such as eyewear. The path of the virtual object in motion is substantially linked, in time and space, to the course traveled by a hand holding the handheld device. The methods in some implementations include presenting the virtual object on a display at a first location relative to a three-dimensional coordinate system, collecting motion data from an inertial measurement unit on the handheld device, displaying the virtual object at a second location along a path based on the motion data. In some implementations the eyewear includes a projector located and configured to project the display onto a lens assembly.

  • Patent number: 11733707
Abstract: Systems and methods for determining the location of a vehicle are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method for localizing a vehicle includes driving over a first road segment, identifying by a first localization system a set of candidate road segments, obtaining vertical motion data while driving over the first road segment, comparing the obtained vertical motion data to reference vertical motion data associated with at least one candidate road segment, and identifying, based on the comparison, a location of the vehicle. The use of such localization methods and systems in coordination with various advanced vehicle systems such as, for example, active suspension systems or autonomous driving features, is contemplated.

  • Patent number: 11734075
Abstract: Data format conversion processing of an accelerator accessed by a processor of a computing environment is reduced. The processor and accelerator use different data formats, and the accelerator is configured to perform an input conversion to convert data from a processor data format to an accelerator data format prior to performing an operation using the data, and an output conversion to convert resultant data from accelerator data format back to processor data format after performing the operation. The reducing includes determining that adjoining operations of a process to run on the processor and accelerator are to be performed by the accelerator, where the adjoining operations include a source operation and destination operation. Further, the reducing includes identifying for removal output data format conversion of output data of the source operation for input to the destination operation, and input data format conversion of the input to the destination operation.

  • Publication number: 20230258457
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for vehicle localization. The vehicle can include a data processing system (“DPS”) including one or more processors and memory. The DPS can receive sensor data from sensors of the vehicle. The DPS can identify a historical road profile of the ground for a first location of the vehicle. The DPS can generate a current road profile of the ground. The DPS can determine a lateral deviation of the vehicle. The DPS can determine a match between the historical road profile and the current road profile at a second location that aligns with the lateral deviation. The DPS can provide an indication of a current location of the vehicle as the second location.

  • Publication number: 20230214819
Abstract: A system and associated methods display on a user device a non-fungible token (NFT) in an application that displays video data. The methods include storing the NFT of a user in a database accessible to the application, associating an ID of the user for the application to the NFT, and receiving a selection of the NFT during use of the application. Upon selection, the selected NFT is provided to the user device for superimposing the selected NFT over the user's face, providing the selected NFT as a background image for the video data on the user device, or both. The user device includes a web application that connects the database to a crypto wallet containing the NFT. The NFT may be processed to crop out the eyes and mouth of the NFT for registration with the user's eyes and mouth when the NFT is superimposed over the user's face.

  • Publication number: 20230217007
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for selectively sharing audio and video streams amongst electronic eyewear devices. Each electronic eyewear device includes a camera arranged to capture a video stream in an environment of the wearer, a microphone arranged to capture an audio stream in the environment of the wearer, and a display. A processor of each electronic eyewear device executes instructions to establish an always-on session with other electronic eyewear devices and selectively shares an audio stream, a video stream, or both with other electronic eyewear devices in the session. Each electronic eyewear device also generates and receives annotations from other users in the session for display with the selectively shared video stream on the display of the electronic eyewear device that provided the selectively shared video stream. The annotation may include manipulation of an object in the shared video stream or overlay images registered with the shared video stream.
