  • Publication number: 20190220108
Abstract: A stylus has a pen tip assembly and an end cover synchronized in motion. The stylus includes a barrel, a pen tip assembly, a drive circuit unit, an end cover, and an elastic element. The pen tip assembly is electrically connected to the drive circuit unit. The end cover is connected to the pen tip assembly, and an end portion is exposed from the end cover. When the pen tip assembly is pressed, the end portion is moved together with the end cover from an initial position, the pen tip assembly moves inwardly toward the barrel and compresses the elastic element. When the elastic element is restored to release the pen tip assembly, the pen tip assembly and the end cover are together returned to the initial position to avoid a deduction or a loss in signal strength.

  • Publication number: 20190155408
Abstract: An electrical stylus tip and a stylus using the same are provided. The electrical stylus tip includes a metal rod and a plastic covering member. The metal rod has a head portion, an end portion and a body portion. A connection rod is connected between the head portion and the body portion. The plastic covering member and the metal rod are integrally formed by means of insert molding. The plastic covering member includes a conductive element covering the head portion and a non-conductive element covering the body portion, and the conductive element and the non-conductive element are connected to each other. The connection rod is enclosed within the conductive element and the non-conductive element, and the end portion protrudes out of the non-conductive element. Accordingly, signal detection is improved, and accuracy of stylus position detection is improved.

  • Patent number: 9977520
Abstract: Embodiments of a stylus having a capacitive slide sensor and grip sensors are disclosed, for use with electronic devices and particularly with touchscreen devices. The stylus is in signal communication with the electronic device, either wired or wirelessly, and the slide sensor allows a user to generate a sliding data value as well as a contact/no-contact datum; these can be used as scaled control values or as buttonpress control values to control features of applications running on the electronic device. The capacitive sensors are formed on a single flexible PCB wrapped inside the stylus barrel.

  • Patent number: 9909939
Abstract: Embodiments of a force sensing resistor (FSR) are disclosed. The FSR has one or more external conductive layers, applied to at least part of the contact surface of the FSR, so that when a conductive probe presses the FSR, initial zero-force contact with the FSR can be detected immediately. The external conductive layer or layers may be rigid sheet metal, flexible sheet metal, metallic-coated polymer, conductive polymer, conductive elastomer, or other conductive material. A lead or trace may be electrically coupled to the external conductive layer or layers to allow for ease of coupling to a circuit or circuit board.
