    Abstract: A medium thickness detection device includes: a light emitting element; a constant-current control circuit controlling, in a constant-current manner, the light emitting element to output light passing through a medium for an irradiation time; a light-receiving element receiving the light passing through the medium to obtain an analog signal; a receiver circuit receiving the analog signal; a maximum holding circuit holding a maximum of the analog signal; an analog-to-digital converter circuit reading the maximum of the analog signal and converting the maximum of the analog signal into a digital signal; a reset circuit resetting the maximum holding circuit; and a processor controlling operations of the constant-current control circuit, the reset circuit and the analog-to-digital converter circuit, and determining a thickness of the medium according to the digital signal when a specification of the medium is unknown.

    Abstract: A short pulse generating circuit including a pulse generating circuit, an actuation control circuit and a delay control circuit is provided. The pulse generating circuit is electrically coupled to a switch, which is coupled to a power. When the power is turned on, the power causes the pulse generating circuit to generate a long pulse. The actuation control circuit is electrically coupled to the power and the pulse generating circuit. When the power is turned on, the actuation control circuit controls a voltage level of each output of the pulse generating circuit to a fixed value. The delay control circuit is electrically coupled to the pulse generating circuit. When the switch is turned on, the power controls the delay control circuit to change the voltage level of each output of the pulse generating circuit to generate a short pulse output.

    Abstract: An image acquiring device with background filtering function includes a scanning module, a color splitting module and an image processing module. The scanning module includes a CCD sensor for sensing a document image signal travelling along an optical path. The CCD sensor has red, green, blue and white light sensing member sets. A data transmission speed of the white light sensing member set is greater than that of each of the red, green and blue light sensing member sets. The color splitting module disposed on the optical path only lets one of red, green and blue light pass through at a time under a filtering mode. The white light sensing member set receives the red, green or blue light outputted from the color splitting module. Then, the image processing module recognizes a brightness value of a pixel, which exceeds a predetermined value, and compensates for the brightness value of this pixel to generate a brightness value corresponding to a white.
