Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for the planning of resources used in computing. Usage statistics regarding one or more virtual machine instances executing in a networked plurality of computing devices are obtained. The usage statistics are grouped, for example, based on one or more customer usage classifications, thereby producing one or more usage groups. A corresponding demand forecast is generated for each of the usage groups. A projected demand for one or more physical components of the networked computing devices is calculated according to the demand forecasts.

Abstract: An apparatus for duty cycle calibration includes an input calibration circuit, a delay chain, a first comparator, and a second comparator. The input calibration circuit calibrates an input clock signal according to a first control signal so as to generate an input calibration clock signal. The delay chain includes a plurality of delay units coupled in series, and delays the input calibration clock signal so as to generate a first delay clock signal and a second delay clock signal. At least two of the delay units each have an adjustable delay time which is controlled according to a second control signal. The first comparator compares the input calibration clock signal with the first delay clock signal so as to generate the first control signal. The second comparator compares the input calibration clock signal with the second delay clock signal so as to generate the second control signal.

Abstract: A foldable leg rest has a slide base, a first folding assembly, a second folding assembly, a first stage drive mechanism and a second stage drive mechanism. The slide base has a slide frame. The first folding assembly has a first frame pivotally connected to the slide frame. The second folding assembly has a second frame pivotally connected to the first frame. In use, the first stage drive mechanism is operated to drive the first frame to pivot relative to the slide frame and the second stage drive mechanism is operated to drive the second frame to pivot relative to the first frame. Therefore, the legs of a sitter can be stretched and placed on the folding assemblies so as to enhance comfort and minimize fatigue.

Abstract: An extensible reading system is described that provides a method of extending the readings supported by an IME application without updating the entire application. The extensible reading system separates the IME reading dictionary from the IME application, so that the user can update or supplement the dictionary with new readings without modifying the IME application. The extensible reading system receives custom readings from a user that include a sequence of keyboard characters and a selection of a language character that is to be inserted into a document when a user inputs the sequence of keyboard characters. Thus, the extensible reading system allows the user to update the readings for mapping keyboard characters to language characters much more frequently.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to compositions and methods of their use in detection and identification of a chordopoxvirus in a sample, such as diagnosis of an infection in a subject. The compositions and methods allow for detection and identification of all non-avian low-GC content chordopoxviruses, identification of most known high-GC content chordopoxvirus, and species-specific detection of Canarypox virus, Fowlpox virus, and Sealpox virus.

Abstract: An antenna and a communication device thereof are provided. The antenna includes at least one ground and at least one radiating portion. The ground is disposed on a dielectric substrate, and the radiating portion includes at least one signal source and at least one closed conductor loop. The closed conductor loop has a first coupling conductor portion and a second coupling conductor portion, and the closed conductor loop has a plurality of bending portions to form a three-dimensional structure, and a first coupling gap is formed between the first and the second coupling conductor portions. The closed conductor loop further has a feeding portion and a short-circuit portion to form a second coupling gap between them. The feeding portion is electrically connected or coupled to the at least one signal source, and the short-circuit portion is electrically connected or coupled to the ground.

The clip member constrains the cylinder body from sliding on the cylinder housing in a first position, and does not constrains the cylinder body from sliding on the cylinder housing in a second position. The cylinder body slides to a replacing position for replacing the second locking pin set via the replacing opening.

A method may include identifying a total number of units of an item to be stored in a plurality of regions and determining an order forecast for the item in each of the plurality of regions. The method may also include receiving a unit out-of-stock cost of the item in each of the plurality of regions and calculating an expected cost for each of the plurality of regions based, at least in part, on the total number of units of the item, each region's respective order forecast, and each region's respective unit out-of-stock cost. The method may further include allocating a portion of the total number of units of the item to each of the plurality of regions to reduce a sum of the expected costs.
