When a desired operational context is chosen, such as by activation through a user initiated act or hot key, the operating system supporting the desired operational context is booted up from the Standby power state.

The method is divided into a write-proof method, a delete-proof method and a hidden partition method, which code the drivers of Lower Filter Device Object, Upper Filter Device Object, Partition n Lower Filter Device Object and Partition n Upper Filter Device Object and inserts the objects to the corresponding positions of Partition n Functional Device Object, the Disk Functional Device Object and the Bus Functional Device Object, thereby building a driver configuration respectively for the write-proof method, the delete-proof method and the hidden partition method. Abstract: This invention discloses a method of configuring a device property of a storage device for a Windows operating system. A step (A) is to code a lower-level filter driver for intercepting and processing an I/O request packet (IRP) that queries a storage device property. The IRP of the step (A) is passed through the lower-level filter driver. A step (B) is to insert the lower-level filter driver between a storage class driver and a bus filter driver. A step (C) is to change an original device property of the IRP corresponding to the storage device when the computer is booted and the lower-level filter driver is executed.
