  • Publication number: 20090294457
Abstract: A container is provided for substances that contain an antibacterial compound. The container is comprised of a tube body and a tube shoulder that includes a tube nozzle. The tube body may have a laminate structure. The tube shoulder may be comprised of an alkene based polymer such as a polyethylene or a polypropylene. Such alkene based polymers have a high absorptivity for antibacterial compounds such as triclosan. It has been found that the absorptivity for triclosan can be reduced through the use of at least one of polytrimethylene naphthalate, polyethylene naphthalate and acrolonitrile/methacrylate as the surface contacting the composition containing the antibacterial. This surface can be a film on the tube shoulder/nozzle, the full structure of the tube nozzle, an insert in the tube nozzle or a co-injection molded surface on a shoulder/nozzle. The absorption is less than 1.0 mg/dm2.

  • Publication number: 20090245646
Abstract: One way of recognizing online handwritten mathematical expressions is to use a one-pass dynamic programming based symbol decoding generation algorithm. This method embeds segmentation into symbol identification to form a unified framework for symbol recognition. Along with decoding, a symbol graph is produced. Besides accurately recognizing handwritten mathematical expressions, this method can produce high quality symbol graphs. This method uses six knowledge source models to help search for possible symbol hypotheses during the decoding process. Here, knowledge source exponential weights and a symbol insertion penalty are used to weigh the various knowledge source model probabilities to increase accuracy.

  • Patent number: 7586202
Abstract: Strip-shaped alignment marks 14 are juxtaposed with each other in a silicon oxide film 12 formed on a silicon wafer 10. Each alignment mark 14 comprises a plurality of grooves 16 formed side by side in the silicon oxide film 12. An amorphous silicon film 18 is buried in the grooves 16. Thus, the alignment marks 14 are formed in a thus-formed line-and-space pattern. Accordingly, waveforms of detected signals having high contrast and little deformation can be obtained, and alignment of wafers with high accuracy can be realized.

  • Publication number: 20090214117
Abstract: Described is a bimodal data input technology by which handwriting recognition results are combined with speech recognition results to improve overall recognition accuracy. Handwriting data and speech data corresponding to mathematical symbols are received and processed (including being recognized) into respective graphs. A fusion mechanism uses the speech graph to enhance the handwriting graph, e.g., to better distinguish between similar handwritten symbols that are often misrecognized. The graphs include nodes representing symbols, and arcs between the nodes representing probability scores. When arcs in the first and second graphs are determined to match one another, such as aligned in time and associated with corresponding symbols, the probability score in the second graph for that arc is used to adjust the matching probability score in the first graph. Normalization and smoothing may be performed to correspond the graphs to one another and to control the influence of one graph on the other.

  • Publication number: 20080240570
Abstract: A forward pass through a sequence of strokes representing a handwritten equation is performed from the first stroke to the last stroke in the sequence. At each stroke, a path score is determined for a plurality of symbol-relation pairs that each represents a symbol and its spatial relation to a predecessor symbol. A symbol graph having nodes and links is constructed by backtracking through the strokes from the last stroke to the first stroke and assigning scores to the links based on the path scores for the symbol-relation pairs. The symbol graph is used to recognize a mathematical expression based in part on the scores for the links and the mathematical expression is stored.

  • Publication number: 20080241447
Abstract: The invention is directed to polyester containers that are produced from polyester preforms, the preforms preferably having a thermoplastic over-mold layer on at least a part of the exterior surface of the preform. The preform is made by over-molding the thermoplastic layer onto the preform surface in one or more over-molding operations. In a single over-molding embodiment the preform has a body layer of a first color and the over-molded layer of a second color. The over-mold layer can have a thickness gradient varying in thickness from one end of the preform to adjacent another end of the preform. This will give the blow molded container a unique appearance where there the container will be substantially transparent or of a first color and the over-mold layers of differing colors. The over-mold layers can have a thickness and color gradient.
