  • Patent number: 6681095
Abstract: A transparent coat layer forming apparatus of the present invention includes: a heat-fixing device provided with a fixing belt; a particle layer forming apparatus for forming a particle layer made of transparent toner on the fixing belt of the heat-fixing device; plural rollers including a transfer roller for stretching a transfer region of the fixing belt to which the particle layer is transferred from the particle layer forming apparatus in a plane shape; and a retract mechanism for retracting the fixing belt stretched inaplane shapeby the plural rollers including the transfer roller from the particle layer forming apparatus, wherein the particle layer is formed on the fixing belt by the particle layer forming apparatus, and the particle layer formed on the fixing belt of the heat-fixing device is overlapped with a transfer material with an image transferred thereto in a fixing nip portion, followed by heating and pressurizing, whereby a transparent coat layer made of the particle layer is formed on the tra

  • Publication number: 20020167681
Abstract: A gloss-imparting device for imparting a gloss on a color image, the gloss-imparting device has a transparent toner image-carrying body, a transparent toner image-forming unit, a heating/pressurizing unit, and a cooling/releasing unit. The transparent toner image-carrying body carries a transparent toner image formed of a transparent toner thereon. The transparent toner image-forming unit forms the transparent toner image on the transparent toner image-carrying body. The heating/pressurizing unit heats and pressurizes the transparent toner image and the base material to bring them into contact. The cooling/releasing unit cools the transparent toner image and releases the base material from the transparent toner image-carrying body. The transparent toner image is transferred and fixed onto the base material by the heating/pressurizing unit.

  • Publication number: 20020085249
Abstract: A color image forming device and method prevent occurrence of pile height moires specific to electrophotographic images in low-frequency areas and conventional moires in a digital screen set of four colors. In the color image forming device, by at least one of a halftone generating part and scanning signal forming unit in an image processing unit, differences among screen angles of three dot patterns corresponding to cyan, magenta and black toner images are in the range about 25 to 40 degrees, preferably 30 degrees; the screen angle of a first dot pattern corresponding to a yellow toner image is made equal to that of a second dot pattern corresponding to the toner image of one of cyan, magenta and black; and the screen of the first dot pattern is brought about 150 to 210 degrees, preferably about 180 degrees out of phase with the screen of the second dot pattern.

  • Patent number: 5767982
Abstract: An image forming apparatus using a photosensitive body (1) having high gamma characteristics has an exposure unit that is provided with a radiation element whose exposure value is variably set and which is capable of blinking on a pixel-by-pixel basis. An exposure controller (6) is provided with an exposure pattern determining unit (7) that determines an exposure pattern according to the image pattern, and an exposure value switching unit (8) that switches between an exposure value A1 at which the potential of the photosensitive body (1) sharply attenuates and an exposure value A2 at which the potential of the photosensitive body (1) does not substantially attenuate, on the basis of the exposure pattern determined by the exposure pattern determining unit (7).
