  • Patent number: 11869167
Abstract: The embodiments of the disclosure provide a method for transmitting reduced depth information and an electronic device. The method includes: obtaining a first depth map of an image frame, wherein the first depth map includes a plurality of first depth pixels corresponding to multiple image pixels in the image frame; downscaling the first depth map as a second depth map, wherein the second depth map includes multiple second depth pixels, and each second depth pixel has a depth value; adjusting the second depth map as a third depth map by scaling up the depth value of each second depth pixel based on a specific ratio; dividing the third depth map into multiple fourth depth maps; appending the fourth depth maps to the image frame; encoding the image frame appended with the fourth depth maps; and transmitting the encoded image frame to a client device.

  • Patent number: 11539980
Abstract: The embodiments of the disclosure provide an image slice transforming method and an electronic device. The method includes: receiving an i-th image slice outputted by an image encoder, wherein the i-th image slice belongs to N image slices divided from an image frame, i is an index, and N is an integer; obtaining a slice header of the i-th image slice; transforming the i-th image slice into an i-th sub-frame by modifying the slice header of the i-th image slice.

  • Patent number: 10742966
Abstract: A method, system and recording medium for adaptive interleaved image warping are provided. The method is applicable to a display system having a head-mounted device (HMD) and a computing device. In the method, the computing device generates a plurality of image frames to be displayed on the HMD according to a frame rate, wherein the image frames generated to be displayed on a first display and a second display at a same time point comprise a first frame with a first resolution and a second frame with a second resolution lower than the first resolution. The generated image frames are transferred from the computing device to the HMD. The HMD restores the second frames with the second resolution among the image frames to a regular resolution of the first display and the second display, and then interleaved displays the first frames and the restored second frames on the first display and the second display.

  • Patent number: 10628958
Abstract: A frame rendering method used in a head-mounted device that includes the steps outlined below. Input frames are received. First and second orientation information corresponding to a first and a second input frames are retrieved from a motion sensor. Predicted orientation information of a predicted orientation corresponding to a target time spot is generated according to the first and the second orientation information. Orientation calibration is performed on the first and the second input frames according to the first and the second orientation information to respectively generate a first and a second calibrated frames corresponding to the predicted orientation. One of a plurality of extrapolated frames corresponding to the target time spot is generated according to the first calibrated frame and the second calibrated frame.
